Here's another possible explanation. Are we sure THAT bridge is the bridge Alyx is suspended from? It may be another bridge entirely.

Yeah. Lets face it, trailers for movies are never ever in correct order, nor was the Ep1 trailer, so why would it be that way in Ep2...I think the Alyx hanging scene is at the very beginning of Ep2, and that collapsing bridge is something else entirely. Perhaps the blast is a secondary explosion coming from the Citadel?

Besides, you were riding a train. The bridge that collapses is a vehicle bridge, and you can see train cars in the Alyx hanging scene...
