New Episode Two Screenshots

Two new Episode Two screenshots have appeared on the web today. They're not too revealing in nature, but one of the shots is causing a stir already... In the first shot below, you see the letters "REA" placed onto a red background on the monitor behind the characters. BO"REA"LIS, anyone? I don't think so because it's too early to tell, but many others believe otherwise.[br]

i wonder what the first one is all about cause of the expression on Alyx's face.
But they awesome screenies. :) CAN'T WAIT.
 
Man, those facial animations are cutting edge. It feels like I could write several different scenarios based on that first pic alone.
 
I'm positive that it reads Borealis, if the letters on the first screen are 'BO'. It looks like the ice breaker might feature in Episode Three, if not Two, so it seems Valve might be revisiting and fleshing out some of their early concepts for Half-Life 2 for the new installments. Very cool.

And did anybody else notice that Eli's Harvard shirt is missing? :}
 
Nice to see the clothes being a bit updated (Alyx is all dirty and Eli has a new thing I can't remember the name of.
 
Also lending weight to Boraelis - containers with the Heli outside, container ship?
 
Not really, I think it's just Alyx joining the fight we see in gameplay video 4. Also note the poor resistance guy who seems to have gotten shot while spray painting the "RESIST" sign on the container.
 
Is it just me or do the pictures on the Monitors look like cut and paste. They aren't even rounded with the screen, look at the bottom edge, you can see pictures under neth them.
 
Far too early to tell in my opinion, plenty of words that "rea" fits into.

Looks to me like the container thingummies we saw in the two battles with the helichoppercopter game play videos we got ages ago. Except with more dead civvies and Alyx.

Coincidence or cause and effect?

The strange thing with constantly getting so excited about small things like these pictures is that the game's only going to be a bout six or seven hours long. We'll have seen most of the game before it's released, yet we still lap up the tiniest shots like these lovely two, like the salivating mutts we are.
 
I think Alyx is blocking the view of a picture.

no, you can't. those are reflections.

nice stuff. i really hope we get to go to the borealis, would make me very happy.
 
It's also clearly snowing in the second monitor screen.

Considering it was an ice breaker ship in the arctic, it seems pretty damn likely it's the Borealis to me.
 
Oooh !!:O looks like the shadow of alex blends in with the lightmap of the level...
that would be sooo next-gen. *wishes for better shadows in ep2*

Well if HL2 leads you going on such a ship or something, I already have a sort of plausible theory of how the game will continue.

At the end of Episode 2, you board the Borealis in similar fashion to the train at the end of Episode 1, headed to wherever Mossman was (ice breaker + snowy area Mossman was at in video?), and that's how Episode 3 would start.

Anyway, the pics looks great. The facial expressions in both shots are ridiculous, especially Alyx's. I also really appreciate the updated clothes appearances. The next step would be seeing updates to the models in real-time, say right after some especially nasty and uber-scripted encounter, where you'd expect something drastic to happen or be said afterwards.
 
You see, Eli changes his shirt, but Alyx refuses to change her underwear.

Unless, of course, they are different in Episode Two.
 
Source looks nice, and absolutely amazing considering how well it runs on old shitty hardware, and the facial animations are still the best in the industry.
 
That pic looks like eli is suggesting he goes on a suicide mission, and alyx and kliener are worried.

Also eli's new tartan sweater looks shopped.
