Is this true:
http://digitalbattle.com/2006/10/22/battlefield-2142-expansion-announced/

The expansion pack will include three new armies, each named after their respective sponsors, such as Coca-Cola and McDonalds. A brand new feature, called “Pay-per-weapon”, will allow players buy their weapons and ammunition using microtransactions. The expansion will feature the latest in personal body armor, adding new realism by incorporating ad space directly on your soldier. New advertising styles will be available as unlocks, adding a whole new role playing element to the franchise.
I laughed hard at how pathetic this is. :|

Just found out it's fake. :| Durr, well I belived it, sort of thing EA would probably do.

“After extensive research of player actions in the game, IGA found that players were spending 80% of their time in the game staring at fellow Squad Members. We realized that this had untapped potential as advertising space.”
lol
although its a joke, EA/DICE scare me too much to feel safe

It just shows how bad EA have got for me to believe that article, lol.

Ummmm didn't fool me for a second....:| Though I thought BF2142 already had an expansion anounced. I remember an interview saying that there was gonna be some Asian side coming in with some 2142 expansion pack. Ever wonder where those Middle Eastern and Asians are?

Man I just spent like half an hour trying to find the Gamespot MoH Street article. But their archiving system is AWFUL.

Haha, I can't believe you fell for it. ;) I read your first post, smiled, scrolled down to the second and laughed :bounce:

Read the bottom of the page (saying that it took me a while to get there as I was laughing my ass off) :-

The new expansion is scheduled for release sometime in 2007.
In case you didn’t realize by now, this is obviously fake, and hopefully a bit fun with the Spyware, bugs and advertisement news surrounding BF2142 at the moment.

ROFL!!!Funny though.

Haha, very good article & even better he was fooled.
