New FEAR sp preview!

At this stage it's admittedly still far too early to tell quite how F.E.A.R will pan out over the course of its 15-20 hour lifespan

15-20 ?.............

I was never interested in FEAR. After reading that article I'm even less interested if that's possible. Slo-mo was cool a few years ago I guess. Hardly enough to get me to buy a game. Sounds like your typical, short, on-rails shooter. Oh but you can melee attack and participate in box stacking and jumping puzzles. Sweet.

I'll definitely play a demo when one comes around in order to make my final decision, but I don't see myself in FEAR.

Feh, the MP will still be decent from what I've seen.

Bout time we got a decent DM game :)

I think the thing that turns off most about FEAR ..is the fear :) Just not all that interested in horror titles ..seems like since Doom3 was announced developers are jumping on the horror bandwagon (hollywood is overly saturated by this crap lately) ...doom was teh crappy that relied on cheap gimicks hopefully FEAR will go for something more cerebral ..still would have prefered if it wasnt a horror setting, but I'm willing to pass judgement after I've played the game ...the cool-looking combat is the selling point for me

"jumping on the horror bandwagon"? Is there some sort of upsurge of horror games that I missed? :) AFAIK, it seems that horror games haven't become any more common than they ever were, really. Unless you're talking about FEAR jumping on the whole japanese scary little girl horror fad. I guess it's because they've become more popular, that they're more apparent and get more attention nowadays.

well okay maybe I'm jumping to conclusions but there seems to be a lot of horror titles on the way: fear, doom3 xpan, PsychoToxic, Painkiller: Battle out of Hell, Cold Fear, The Suffering, Call Of Cthulhu, Hellforces, Pathologic, BioShock, Vivisector

Painkiller: Battle out of Hell was hardly horror. I personally can't wait for FEAR. It looks like a hell of a lot of fun. I really hate being scared, but what the hell.

Same as HL2...although with FEAR we won't have to wait for a year to pass because they screwed up release dates just to go "...this ain't even that good" - I still think FEAR looks good though.

Yeah, because that was the general reaction with HL2 :dozey: Anyway, 15-20 hours is about the same as every game now-a-days. Plus Multiplayer which, from what i've heard is supposed to be awesome (Shame they didn't do an OPEN Beta). Except for RPG's though, which go over 20 hours and closer to 40 or 60.
