New forum layout

Its good.. but what is the point of having catagories with only one forum in them?

Looking good.

Less forums = better. Its less clumped.

I still think you're going crazy with categorization, but on the whole this is a huge improvement. I think it's a good compromise to make music and tv as subforums in off topic. The only non-sensical thing is having only one forum within a forum, such as in the General Games chat. Are you planning to add more subforums?

Totally agree.

I liked it better an hour ago...:(

At least I could see when someone posted in a forum..

That looks pretty cool. "Mommy can I keep it?" :E

I dont like it, seems more of a mess.

I liked it when used for some of the forums, but this is nuts.

Its different, but you still have things random all over the place. I have mentioned them loads of times but I just get ignored.

/me looks at art and design.

Oh noes, make it stop! MAKE IT STOP!

I'll voice my opinion.

I. Don't. Like. It.
PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!

I'm not that bothered about it tbh, but i dont understand the point in it, It doesnt make the forum any easier to navigate imo.

I think it makes it more difficult to navigate... :|

agreed.. and subsections inside sections that can't be posted in just makes it look ugly.. you can't easily see what threads were posted in last at a glance, you've gotta mess around moving into different parts or using the neva-work new posts.

Not liking it here :(

I would say it's a little confusing atm. You have forums which you can't post in but just act as second level categories (are u sure you can't add a a category to a category?). I think the Forums should become the "General Discussion/Editing/Off Topic" forum and specialisations such as Rumours/Coding/Films" are kept as sub-forums. I think this is more how the category->forum->subforum layout was envisaged by VBulletin.
Something like

Code:
Source
   Half-life 2
      Rumours and Speculation
      Fan Fiction
      Storyline Discussion

   Conversions
      CS: Source
      HL: Source
      DOD: Source

   Other Games
      The Masquerade - bloodlines
      Twilight War: after the fall
      Sourceworld

   Editing
      Coding
      Mapping
      Models and Skins
      Marketplace

Other Forums
   The Lounge
      Newbie Central
      Gaming
      Politics
      TV, Film, Music
      Hardware and Software

   Halflife2.net
      News & announcements
      Help and Support
      Clans and Tournaments

even here the "Conversions" and "Other Games" won't get used much, but at least they're available for any posts regarding games. However it does mean more forums to browse, which may be a good or bad thing.

I saw a sub-forum implementation where all the sub-forums posts showed up in the main forum thread listing, don't know if you can do that in VBulletin, thats another option.

I don't like it... classic style was much easier to read and I actually find it harder to find the right forum now =(

Salvation! My daily sacrifices to the Half Life gods have not gone unnoticed!

Yep, Munro is awesome. Also dont forget Chris_D
