New Gabe Newell interview in Driverheaven

This sux, none of these recent interviews dare to ask how far is this game from being released or if are they near to get the hacker.

Tottaly disapointed.........;(

Yeah, same here.
They probably don´t ask because Mr. Newell is not going to answer, so they save that part.

He didn't give the answer to the question we all want to hear. Thus, I will say that Gabe can go to hell and burn until HL2 is released.

Burn Gabe Burn !

Now I feel bad...sorry Gabe(not):flame:

Decent interview... Developing questions really.. not much about HL2 itself.

I wish they'd release more info on HL2...this drought of real info is annoying..

Just because you don't see Gabe Newell talk about those topics, does not mean the site did not ask them. Remember, Gabe does not anwser all questions when you send him a list. Alot of sites who conducted an interview with Gabe have asked, none of them recieved an anwser to those questions.

I gave up waiting for Half-Life 2. When it comes out I will buy it, but I'm not huncehd over my computer saing "Is it out yet? Is it out yet?" When the game is released then I will start to care.

Give me my TF2. Funny he mentions it in the article even tho nothing was asked about it.

All this secrecy is lame if you ask me. Why not just tell us or show us more about the game...like MP? Sure it's a surprise...but what's it gonna change if they tell us now? Sales...if anything would be the only thing that changes...and that'd go up I think...

HL2 had better have something I'm really not expecting from it...or else I'll be pissed... because I can already feel this game being built up to be something better than it will be...

I won't be surprised if one of the pre-conditions for interviewing is that those questions will not be answered.

yea i agree with u, i hope that valve isnt setting itelf up for a fall. however im still excited and wait patiently, i have trust and faith in valve. but am not blinded. i know wuts going on and have been disappointed. i on the other hand think the secrecy is a good thing, the only thing keeping hl2 interesting. that and its new technology.

btw shouldnt this be on the front page by now?

i agree about the "hope valve isn't setting itself up for a fall" or whatever the person said... but IMO, gabe let on more than he meant to about how complete the game is. (could be wishful thinking of course... but!...) i mentioned this in another thread:

"For example some of our models were "finished" four years ago, but now that we have the rest of the game, we are going back and doing another pass on them to bring them up to the same art standards as the rest of the game..." -from gabe's interview... he COULD be saying they're in the polishing stage... but once again... wishful thinking on my part?

Dude, that's pretty damned harsh. Just chill out and stop worrying about HL2's release date for 2 seconds of your life. Worked for me ;).

I think you guys should realize that this is a good thing (the fact that he's doing interviews/responding to the occasional email). Just a few weeks ago, he wouldn't talk to the media at all because he and the company were so involved in working extra hard on the game. I'm sure that they are still working very hard on the game to fix things up, add things, make the game better all-around, and/or improve multiplayer (or whatever else they are doing), but now it seems that Gabe is a little less stressed out. Which is a good thing because it means things are on the right track.

Still, the game may not be out for a few months. I don't think we should all be so distraught - it is delayed for a very good reason - it would be released if Gabe felt it satisfied our expectations. Gabe knows more than anybody that releasing a 'decent' or 'fun' game isn't what Valve is trying to achieve. They are going for "Revolutionary", "Totally Immersive", "Amazing, spectacular, game of the year and the game to play for the next four years!" Gabe realized that this is not what the game would have been had it been released September 30th. Sure, he shouldn't have given us a date if he wasn't absolutely sure it'd be ready, but I'd guess that it was ready. It just wasn't as magnificient and marvelous as it will be.
