Yikes! This guy literally rapes Half-Life without lubricant.

Low-quality Youtube version available here. A hi-quality should be up later at Speed Demos Archive, unknown when though.

I don't think he wants it to be filled with "Liek OMG you ch4at!11 H4x! LOL!".

Yeah. Or it'd turn into a discussion about Bush or something... And I still haven't been able to watch it :p

I believed he did that run legit until he gets the Tau Cannon and manages to turn around to boost himself in under a second, he charges the cannon, the screen twitches and you hear the gun fire, and he's going faster...hmmm

I watched most of it (it stopped itself with 8 minutes to go- damn you youtube!) and he only went outside of level boundaries once, and only for a second. I think it was an accident.

That guy isn't human. There are a lot of parts where the screen looks weard. But those are just down to savepoints. He obviously didn't do it all in one sitting. But who would?

I don't think he cheated at all. You saw all of what you needed to see. If he was suddenly at increased speed it was most likly from change in save or movie. You still saw everything.

Speedruns are never just one sitting, or one run through. They often have to go back and do different takes, and they just take the best ones and string them together. At least, the forty-five minute one did, this one seemed a lot smoother.

yeah this is a segmented speedrun, the ones that are always the fasted because the runners can go back and improve parts. Single segments are done in one sitting and usually are longer because there may be mistakes.

even the 45 minute one was nuts. Some of the things he did required skill to execute properly while others were cheap glitches. But still, impressive.

How he just hops right through the vent / holes in the ground and stuff in the beginning is INSANE!

I'm impressed. He seems to be able to bhop much better than the 45 minute guy. That Blast Pit jump into the shaft was amazingly well timed.

Thanks for the link.

Man he must get so pissed off if he gets a segment wrong just a few times. I know it's segmented so he can just start again, but it all looks like precision stuff, so if you can't get a bit over and over again, it must really be annoying.

This video is even better because of all the crazy jumping, not just the speedyness. This guy obviously plays KZ alot.

Yes some are. Here is a single-segment Castlevania Symphony of the Night speedrun that is one of my favorites (one of my favorite games too)

OMG thats awesome but i think hes using a way to make it faster. In some areas were he just flyes forward he can just fastwind (or whatever you call it) and add the ingame sounds manualy, plus the music ALWAYS stops at each loading point..but it continues on the video...fishy. Also i think hes using airacceleration which when he hits the S key he will go forward much faster when he jumps.

Just thoughts...

EDIT: Omg hes using airacceleration no doubt. When he fires the gaunt whatever its called, the lazer weapon it makes him fly back in the game but with air acceleration he just pushes S and it will reverse itself and he flyes forward.

CHEATER

EDIT: oh he said it was a script...well...thats cheating too! Hes supposed to play normal halflife like it is when you install it, no modding!

I remember watching some of those. Man, the guy who goes through as Richter insanely fast is amazing. I can't even get all the way through. I die in the upside down castle..the part where the little things on the floor crush you when you land in between them. Always die there, damnit.

Please do NOT bring the scripting vs. cheating argument here. It's not modding, anyway.

He's got major skill, that's for sure. Definitely one of the most well planned/executed speed runs I've ever seen.

Wow. I had no idea you could snark jump like that. Also, there were some kickass sections (like when he shot out of the water straight up through that cylinder room).

haha, thats hilarious at some parts, almost like he doesnt hit the ground

That was amazing. Very skilled Bunny Hopper.
