Wow, I accidently had the song NERD - Rockstar (remix) playing in the background when the movie played, and I thought it was part of the movie...many it is synced almost perfectly!

ps: awesome video.

I'd guess it's from the leak, it's using that "Clubbed to Death" song. Maybe they licenced it, but I doubt it.
 
Why do I sense a huge amount of sarcasm in this thread?

Halo 2 is a very good game, it kind of beats HL2 in someways, due to HL2 lacking any sort of multiplayer action at all, aside from CS: Source.

Imagine HL2 with co-op?

IMAGINE IT PEOPLE?!?! THINK!!!!

Cuz this video pwns any Hl2 video we seen ..but Hl2 is still VERY GODLIKE
 
It didn't look that great to me, to be honest. I didn't see anything in it that made me drop my jaw.

You want to see the world's best official (even unofficial) trailer, check out the official Doom 3 trailer. Now that is how you do a trailer.

Why because it has music from the Matrix? There was nothing amazing about the video. The music was part of the problem. It's been used way to much. It has lost any sense of "coolness" it once had.

Even the gameplay didn't impress me. I enjoy the gameplay style of Halo, but it doesn't look like it brings anything new to the table.

Clubbed to Death is really overused. Poor music selection. If they wanted to use Rob D, they should have went with his later adaption "Chateau", which is better and less used.

That said, that video was pretty cool. I wish I could play it. :(
 
constructive criticism: it looks just like the old halo, nothing new, nothing exciting, no new gameplay, no new engines, no physcis, no dynamic lighting and shadowing, not for pc.

now what's the name of the song in the video, by the way , the video is in french, is it an add or something.

How can you say those 10 story walking dog things don't look exciting? Or those things dropping from the sky?

The gameplay does look similar, but it does have a physics engine, albiet not HL2 quality. Who cares about dynamic lighting and shadowing. Graphics aren't everything.

Your last complaint is the killer.
 
yeah what i hate the most is that they don't make it to pc first, the same for burnout 3 and ninja gaiden

but seriously halo 2 doesn't looks exciting, i have played and finished halo pc, i didn't like it particularly more than other fps games. The reason why half life 2 excites us so much, cuz there's a great leap from the original one to this upcoming one.
 
That's the leaked halo 2 idle video. dammmit. I thought this was a newly released OFFICIAL video so i watched it. This it totally leaked. and when i say idle video i mean when you start up halo or in this case halo 2, if you don't touch anything for a little while, it will play something like that...or in this case, that!
 
I gotta admit, from everything i've heard from people who have played it, it sounds like a rehash of the first game with lots of little improvements. Not that its a bad thing of course, it'll be awesome, i just hope to god i dont have to go through each level twice, like in the original game
 
The first game was farrrr too linear. And yeah I hated having to go through everything twice.

I think the point is that Halo 2 is like a sterotypical FPS without taking any risks. That used to be okay 5-6-7 years ago, but not anymore. Take a look at the top three PC FPS (Doom 3, HL2, Stalker).

Doom 3: Horror theme, oozing with atmosphere
HL2: Orwellian theme, oozing with atmosphere
Stalker: Russian theme, oozing with atmosphere

Each of those three games, somehow will attempt to move in a new direction for PC gaming. Right now, we have only played Doom 3, but even that game (as much as people ragged on it), definetely has shown how PC Games have advanced. ID software took something that was a jaded subject (a space station that has been infested with demons) and artfully communicated using state of the art graphics. You have to admit that ID software did a really good job of creating a space station. It felt like an actual place rather than some disconnected location as in most games. You saw magazines on the ground, read email from former employees, watched UAC propaganda. That is what I expect from FPS games now. I want atmosphere, not some place to do battle in. I have no doubt that HL2 and Stalker will suceed in creating a convincing atmosphere as well.

You can say Doom 3 failed at its experiment, but at least they made a great attempt. Too bad they couldn't follow through on it the entire game. Doom 3 is still a great game though.

Halo 2 just doesn't have that in my opinion. They've added somethings like ragdolls and dual weapons. But, what is the atmosphere to draw me in?

Halo 2 is exactly the genre of game I love to play, but I'm not seeing anything cool to me. Maybe its just me, but I want some stylized atmosphere and other cool features in my first person shooters. I still probably buy Halo 2 when it comes to the PC (in 4 years or whenever Microsoft says so).
 
I'm buying an Xbox just for Halo 2 :)

the video looks good - halo 2 looks fun and its nice to see that the graphics are improved. but halo is arcade-style, so they both share different elements. and as ShadowFox said a little earlier - graphics arent everything, which is quite true. but if a game has highly impressive graphics with the same or more amount of fun, wouldnt you prefer that?

i personally think half life 2 is much better, and most xbox halo-fanb0yz i have spoken to havent even heard of half life 2 (omgz!!!111qq!!).... i aint gonna write an essay but theres over 101 reasons why i would prefer hl2 over halo2.

and one more thing... i would prob like em both lol. ;D jus have to wait for another poor console-2-PC conversion :naughty:

Edit : just saw the vid, looks same old but fun all the same, i really enjoyed halo but im stuck on it and cant be bothered to play it when i got farcry instead :)

Sparta I can assure you it's worth it. That coming from a person who hates Halo's level design. I tried out a couple of levels of the leak and it was hella fun.
 
Sven Co-op is coming :D that's atleast what I head... I heard also... that Halo 2 sucks compared to #1 :(
