new here, i need help...

i have managed to fully install half-life 2, and at first i would try to play and it would load then make an error noise and kick me back to the desktop. i found a way around that on here somewhere, but now its doing something else.

i can't see my flashlight at all when i turn it on, and when there is someone talkiing through a moniter i hear no voices. it runs a bit slow too. so i tried to lower the graphic settings but when i click advanced it gives me an error that says:

the instruction at "0x241f7c37" referrenced memory at "0x0105f5c0". the memory could not be "read".

click OK to terminate program.

does antone know what this means? if you do, please help, its quite frustrating.

other ppl have had this problem wiht intigrated cards really cant play hl2 with it. the only thing u can do is buy a video card

if you got an agp slot u best buy a new card!! i suggest a 9600xt 9700 , 9800 pro something like that

Best to get a new graphics card.

Emachines are not game playing machines unfortunatly, if you would like any help on selecting a nice cheap graphics card that would be able to run HL2 just ask.

I have never had a problem playing any other games, but i know our onboard is kind of weak, do you know of anyother way to fix that? I dont even get to see what kind of error it is because it freezes.

I would suggest looking at the support site for some more help.

its just the onboard video they will barely run any of the new games that will come next year

If you can get ahold of the radeon 9200 or the geforce fx 5200 PCI versions I would get them instead.
