I know we have a hip hop thread but that's kind a generic thread for all hiphop. Since I don't really listen to the radio and do not much exposure to newly released music I figured a thread for hip hop tracks released in the last few months would be useful.

I posted this in the other thread but I think it could use a repost:

Also, I heard this today on Siruis and I don't know why but I like this song. I've always liked e-40 and too short but I hated 50 cent, yet I can bump this:

Anyone else got new tracks that are good but not the ones that get overplayed on the radio?

Those are pretty tight. The genre is dying out though- I honestly couldnt think of much to post (new stuff.)

These groups like 'new boyz' and 'souljah boys' along with the idiotic 'jerking' fad are sending it straight to the grave. It's about sounding cool with autotune now more than lyrics and rhyme to a sick beat.

I'm actually starting to like this song:

I'm not sure if any of these songs I'm posting fit what most people here listen to when it comes to hip hop. It seems like most of you are into the conscious type of hip hop which is great but not really what I listed to day to day.

i see a lot of boring stuff here...

Just because the title of the thread doesn't have the word "good" preceding it doesn't mean you have to post songs with rappers who have no lyrical talent at all in them. Or rappers who were on Degrassi.

My apologies, I forgot that there is only one definition for "good" rap music and that definition belongs to you. Personally I found some of what you posted to be cliche white boy rap music that I don't find all that interesting, but you didn't hear me bitching.

Seriously? I'm still waiting for the day when someone can explain to me the value of rap pertaining to nothing but bitches, cars, money, and "sippin on sizzurp."

What is there to explain?

Bitches? I love me sum bitches, unless I happen to hate them at any perticular time. Chances are there is a good rap song for either.
Cars? Who doesn't like cars?
Money? Gonna get me as much of it as I can.
And sippin on sizzurp isn't really my style but damn that's a great song.

It's not that I don't like the whole "intellectual rap" genre but I wish they had some better beats and better hooks, alot of it is just a bit lazy in my humble opinion. But what floats my boat might not float yours.

Hot fire brah. You all intellectual and shit.

Cooking crack isn't on your list of leisure time activities?

Not anymore. How is starbucks treating you at this time of day?

Splendid. Every time I take a sip it puts a big grin on my face.

Nothing will ever beat the legendary tune that is Concrete Schoolyard by Jurassic 5.

Why cant rap or hip hop be as good as it was back then. These days its just ***t.

With the exception of Jay-Z. 99 problems is insane.

Heard a new Bun B, trey songs, pimp c and 2pac today. Yes, I said tupac. I'm a big fan of UGK but Bun B really upset me with this release, he should have never signed on to this. They need to stop pissing all over 2pac's grave to make a dime. Here is the new track:

If they atleast used a new verse from Pac nobody ever heard that might be ok, but they totally butchered this song:

BUN B is the shit. He has the midas touch, I dont think it turned out all that bad.

I like the start with Pimp C, the rest of it is garbage in my opinion. And trey songs? With that bullshit at the end? Are you kidding me?

What I think is for certain is they are pissing on tupac's grave when they put out shit like this. They are still sitting on countless 2pac tracks that have not been released. The right thing to do would be to release those tracks without ****ing with them. Instead they choose to cash in on those tracks by taking his verses and messing everything up. Tupac is by far my favorite rapper...scratch that...musician...ever. His legacy should be preserved, not ruined like this.

A new version of DJ Pauls Black and White Rag released yesterday. Has a new beat, new hook (slightly new), and now features Maino. It should be on the To Kill Again album, which I think is going to be released in 2011.

Song won't play in this country but that song is older than probably half of the people on this site.
