Easily the game I'm looking forward to most at the moment - there are new (well, 2 day old) screens up at IGN. Showing off the Opera mission, the shadow and normal/bumpmapping effects are really looking great and are doing a good job of modernising the series, as the previous titles have all suffered from looking quite bland.

The shot of 47 standing in the lobby with his trademark briefcase makes me feel all tingly inside ;)

niiiice, can't wai *Evo gets garroted by an unknown assailant*

Neither can I...:D

For consoles it seems to be Q1 2006, but there's a lot of confusion over the PC release date - it may be before Christmas, it may not. Heck, it may not even be very long at all... one can hope.

After seeing a crappy film called 'Assasins' on Ch. 5 the other day, the hitman games look really cool :P

Contracts was basically a filler game - half remade old missions, half new and somewhat uninspired missions. Blood Money is the 'true' Hitman 3, and they've been working on it since they finished Silent Assassin.

IS THAT TRUE?! HOW DO YOU KNOW!? :cries: i cant be disappointed again...i would hurt to much...

Posts deleted, let's get back on-topic please.

looks luvley, im tempted to say the least... sounds weird but after seeing shots of that party environment I really would just buy it for that, so you can do a bit of partying and perhaps take out a few people, then party some more.. till all the guys mysteriously disappear... then swoop!.

That's god damn amazing, I'm really getting hyped up for this.

Takes me back abit to playing the first Hitman, pure gaming goodness. I'm pretty sure this one will somewhat live up to the previous games.

I never minded the graphics in Hitman. In fact, I thought Hitman: Contracts had some really well done visuals, and amazing atmosphere (the English manor was incredible). So even though it’s pretty obvious that their claims of a brand new engine written completely from scratch obviously aren’t true (it’s the second engine with some normal mapping thrown in) I’m not at all upset. The only thing I want, the ONLY thing I need (from a tech perspective) is a better physics simulation. The rag dolls have not changed one iota since the original game, and dear god does it show. I wouldn't mind if they upped the gore levels a bit either. I recall the original had some well-done decals for bodies and such which were MIA from the second and third game. I'd like those back. This is a Hitman game after all.

Looks great. Has much to live up to with Silent Assassin. Still one of my favorites.

Hitman was cool, but incredibly hard. Didn't really like contracts, but this is looking great.

They should use the render model for the next-gen game :D, the rendered shots looks so badass.

And yeah, I'm really looking forward to it since I've been a fan since the first one. Contracts was a let-down, but hey, the silent-assasination thing is just so stylish :D. 47 puts the DEATH in class.

I think the game looks quite good. Contracts was actually a very nice looking game...it just suffered from a lack of detail in the environments and a general "flatness" of textures. With normal maps and specularity, that seems to have been resolved. :D
Yeah, that and the ragdolls were all that annoyed me - and it seems that they've beefed them up as well - more joints and precise calculations involved.

I miss being able to just use a singular hardballer like in Hitman 1

There's been a few screenshots of 47 with a singular hardballer, one with showing the new feature of holding the gun behind your back.

Graphics look very PS2. Meh, maybe it'll be looking better by release.

Just going to add a compilation of images here from Gamereactor's new preview - there's only one or two shots that I haven't seen before (four or five are from the IGN shots on page 1), but the rest are compressed enough to remove any aliasing that was in the larger versions, so they look rather stunning now:

the women models have Erotic Figures,
Wouldn't agree about that when it comes to the picture near the middle... good to see that IOI aren't just creating one or two base model builds for NPCs, there's variety in it this time.

hmm look at your 1st pic though, 2 guys with the same outfit, just different colour shirt, women clones in pink...:(

The two guys have different colour trousers as well, if you look in the larger pic. They may both have a medium build, but we can't tell if they have different faces - I'm guessing (and hoping) that they do.

Looks like average PS2 graphics with about the variation in people as the original Roller Coaster Tycoon. Won't be picking this one up.

If you want to fantasise about that notion, go ahead, but don't bother us with your further bitching.

Was giving my opinion, not bitching thanks. The graphics look quite bland compared to source/bf2/fear whatever you want to compare it to. If it were a PS2 title ported to PC, I'd fully understand. But it isn't.

Well I think what you saw must be messed up... as Pc:G(US) seen it being played infront of them, and said it look just as good as Splinter Cell 3.

Seeming as you've posted now twice complaining about the same thing (PS2-looking graphics, which they so evidently aren't), I'd call it bitching. The Hitman series has never been noted for its fantastic graphics, but Blood Money is a huge improvement - it may be no HL2/FEAR/whatever killer, but it has gameplay that can easily match, and in my opinion, far supercede the best FPS games to date.

I said the graphics sucked, not the gameplay. And whether or not it's an improvement, IN MY OPINION, notice the opinion part, those graphics look like crap. Almost every picture needs some severe anti-aliasing, and those characters couldn't look more bland.

I was using the gameplay as a point because, as I mentioned, the Hitman games have never been about the graphics - odd that you consider BF2 to be vastly superior to BM in terms of graphics, when I consider it to be quite a bland game to look at. Like the Hitman games, the Battlefield series has always focused more on the gameplay side, so it was a strange point of comparison.

Graphicly it looks amazing, but i just hope the gameplay can match it.

Doesn't look that bad. The Hitman games are always fun.
