Of course people are entitled to their own opinions, but when someone comes barging into a thread with comments like "Looks like average PS2 graphics with about the variation in people as the original Roller Coaster Tycoon. Won't be picking this one up.", I get annoyed. There's such a thing as constructive criticism, but this was completely unbased downputting. It seems more like it was said to provoke a reaction, rather than contribute anything.TheSomeone said:Axyon, why not let him have his opinion? No one is about to convince anyone, and it's not like you need to feel the need for other people to like the game as long as you like it.
It reminds me when the Battlefield 2 demo came out and there were tons of whiners bitching on forums saying "this game is shit I'm not buying it" and expecting sympathy, while all they got was "Good, because I don't feel like dealing with idiots like you on multiplayer." I know that's a bit more extreme than what you guys are doing, but try doing the "You opinion means nothing to me" viewpoint Axyon.
And by the way Axy, I think the graphics look extremely good. Plus, screenshots never really show off the graphics very well, and the trailer shows off very little. I can't wait to see it in action .

Axyon said:Easily the game I'm looking forward to most at the moment - there are new (well, 2 day old) screens up at IGN. Showing off the Opera mission, the shadow and normal/bumpmapping effects are really looking great and are doing a good job of modernising the series, as the previous titles have all suffered from looking quite bland.
The shot of 47 standing in the lobby with his trademark briefcase makes me feel all tingly inside
DreadLord1337 said:It wasn't unbased at all. I can easily picture those screenshots being from a PS2 game, which is what I thought it was at first. And if you took the time to think about it, in the original RCT most people wore the same outfits, and if any different, it was just shirt / pant colors. EXACTLY like the screenshots you've posted.
TheSomeone said:I think this says enough about the validity of your argument.
Top Secret said:You know that the game is not done yet, yes? It's quite possible that some things are missing from the game. Such as, I don't know, more character models?
TheSomeone said:I think this says enough about the validity of your argument.
TheSomeone said:Uhh, try reading my post again, slowly this time. Notice the quote on top and how I'm not even adressing YOU, notice how he is comparing RCT to Hitman blood money, notice how I am saying it's ridiculous of him to say that (notice how there is a clip of RCT on top of the screenshot), then read my previous posts and notice how I said the graphics are really nice and that there are no games that use a different character model for each person, and finally notice how you stupidly jumped to conclusions and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Don't ASSume, you're only making an ass out of yourself.
Top Secret said:Ohh, I'm about to tear this apart.
1. I don't need to read slow. I'm quite adept at reading.
2. I really don't give a shit if you were addressing me, or someone else. I commented on your post, deal with it.
3. I wasn't refering to all of your posts, I was refering to this one in particular. Notice how I quoted it?
4. Your opinions of the graphics of the game, have nothing to do with what I posted.
5. I simply pointed out that you are making a point, using a shot from an incomplete build. Which is rather... inconclusive.
6. I accept your apology. And no, I'm not ashamed of myself. Why would I be? You're the idiot.
7. I haven't assumed.
Let's try some basic reading comprehension, shall we?Q_onfused said:Most threads in any forum are opinions, this one included. I mean, let's take examples from YOUR OWN FIRST POST.
Those bolded are opinions and opinions only. So, for you to critizize his opinions is totally out of line.
I was annoyed because his comments were really quite rude and derogatory, not because he simply had an opinion.Axyon said:Of course people are entitled to their own opinions, but when someone comes barging into a thread with comments like "Looks like average PS2 graphics with about the variation in people as the original Roller Coaster Tycoon. Models using the same clothing? We've never heard of this in games, have we? Notice how all of the Combine Police, Zombies and Combine Soldiers use the same skins in Half-Life 2? I could have sworn I saw the same thing in the FEAR demo as well, and let's not talk about each class model in BF2 either.DreadLord1337 said:Umm no actually that proves nothing. I didn't say the people in hitman look like the graphics from RCT, i said they have the variation of the people from RCT, which you proved quite well in your screenshot. Notice the people in RCT weaing all the same pants and shirts, notice the people in hitman wearing the same shirts and pants, and exactly the same dress. Thanks for proving my point though, I was getting tired of defending myself.
Since we can't see their faces, that's an unbased judgement. Your Anti-Aliasing comment makes me laugh - you do realise that AA has nothing to do with the Glacier game engine, yes? They're not responsible for forcing a hardcode of AA into the game, it's of optional use by your graphics card.As for your comparison of "this is PS2 graphics etc.." look at his head in those two screenshots, looks almost exactly the same, COMPLETE lack of anti-aliasing.
Half-Life 2/Source cost $40 million to create, Doom 3 in that area too. IOI had nowhere near that budget to rewrite the Glacier engine and create a new game with it. Not everything can be a AAA graphical epic of a game, okay? Hitman has never been a series blessed with good graphics, so Blood Money is a huge improvement on the previous games - I think it looks pretty damn good, and apparently so does everyone else in this thread. And I damned well know you didn't say it looked like source/doom/fear whatever, but guess what, Source was released almost a year ago, it will have been over a year when hitman comes out. Don't you think it should look as good or better? Are my expectations really too high? Or are yours too low? Doom3 is even older than source, and guess what, this game looks absolutely terrible compared to that, 18 months later.
Yeah, I love this quote...Half-Life 2/Source cost $40 million to create, Doom 3 in that area too. IOI had nowhere near that budget to rewrite the Glacier engine and create a new game with it. Than stop making it sound like it is!! You say the graphics are awesome, but when i bring up a point that they aren't, you fall back on the "oh well hitman focuses more on gameplay" bs. Choose a side and stick with it. Yea those games use the same models, but guess what, all of those have a purpose, combine soldiers wear the same uniform, soldiers in BF2 wear the same uniform, etc.. PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE, DON'T WEAR EXACTLY THE SAME CLOTHES!!!Axyon said:Half-Life 2/Source cost $40 million to create, Doom 3 in that area too. I've never once claimed that the graphics are up-to-par with the likes of Doom 3 or Half-Life 2, just that they are a huge improvement, as other people have noticed.DreadLord1337 said:Than stop making it sound like it is!! Now I'm done with this thread, all you do is whine that i stated my opinion, and then you fall back on the gameplay stuff when you can't back up yours.
Sorry to intrude on your thread.
Axyon said:Now, since you're done with this thread (again), let's get back to the game.
You'll be happy then, since IOI have stated there won't be any military-centered missions like in the previous games, rather they're now focusing on the civilian closer-quarters kind of Hitman foolery you know and love.TheSomeone said:I hope there are more indoor maps, the huge ass snow/ninja maps in hitman 2 sucked.
Top Secret said:You're basing your opinions off of an early build of the game. Nothing irks me more. That is all.
