New Joker pic

Yes. Nolan is treading brave new grounds. A more homo-erotic depiction of the clown Prince of crime.

It's the way to go, what with all the make-up and rubber suits. :O

I don't think they'll ever make a Live-action Batman that matches the animated series Bats.

For added funnies, the Joker better have his own theme song.

I must be the only person who hates this green-haired hobo. Seriously, look at him. The dark eyes, the long, disheveled hair...in fact in the thumbnail he looks more like Beetlejuice than the Joker.

It's been a bad run for the clown prince of crime lately, what with The Batman's rastafarian Joker design, now this. Blah. What part of this screams Joker to anyone, really? He looks more like one of The Jokers; you know, the gang from Batman Beyond.

Whom, by the way, the real Joker would slaughter mercilessly for defaming his name.

To be fair, I think the only thing that would appease you is if Mark Hamill got clown surgery.

Alas for a perfect world...

But I mean, really, I'm cool with other Jokers. Romero and Nicholson. But they at least reminded me of the Joker, rather than a bum dressed up as the Joker. Joker's a classy guy. Look at this guy. Nothing about him at all says, "class."

We know absolutely nothing about how the performance will be. I for one, think the new, grittier version is awesome.

Much better than the new Transformers.

I'm making no judgements on the PERFORMANCE of this Joker. Perhaps I will enjoy it. I'll reserve judgement of that until I see it.

What I am seeing right now is the LOOK of the character, which doesn't fit in with the established concept of the Joker.

Much better than the new Transformers.
Now, I know you're just jabbing me, but see, I didn't like the new look of the Transformers either. Took some getting used to. At the core of it though, at least the designs reflected the notions of what the characters were supposed to be. I got behind it in the end because the designs made practical sense and still fit within the definition of the characters.

I do not understand how Ledger's look fits the Joker. I'm used to him being a classy guy is all.

Oh, stealth edit: Old Transformer boxy designs from G1 would've looked like shit in the movies, just fyi.

Mark Hamill was a great Joker, but I don't think he was the ultimate Joker. Going back to the first film I don't really think Nicholson is either (far, far from). Joker may be classy, but I think the bum approach works for Nolan's work, especially given the guy fell into a vat of toxic.

What's the correlation between falling in a vat of toxic chemicals and dressing badly? No need to lose your sense of style over it.

Jack Nicholson is the best Joker, period. He seriously scared the crap out of me when I first saw the movie...I was like 8 at the time...still find him kinda frightening...Ive always seen him as a psychotic person, though...

This is also the early Joker, so who knows exactly how he's going to progress and change, even maybe over the course of the film.

I think they are going for The Crow sort of look. The new Batman is supposed to be darker. Tbh I would hold off saying anything about this because we need to see a formal trailer first. Sounds like the pic thing is a contest too.

Ledger's Joker is based off the very first Joker from the early Batman comics in the 1940s. He was first portrayed as a psychotic killer who murdered people for his own personal amusement. I would say that he definitely looks like a psychopath in that picture. This movie will kick ass.

Batman used to kill in the early comics too. He killed constantly.
