You can find the rest here and here.

Damn, this game looks amazing.

I must complete Metroid Prime... I'm currently at that area where you must find all the artifacts.

yea im stuck in MP right now...i havent played for awhile.

EDIT: w00t 300th post!

It doesnt look all that amazing to me....but then again I didnt like Metroid Prime (Super Metroid 3 was alot better :D ) and I've just been playing Doom 3.

while its graphically not as advanced as d3, mainly due to GC limitations the artisitc skill of the project cannot be denied. (Unless you're a rabid moron ;P )

I liked Metroid Prime, but I thought it would be cool if they really took the series in a new direction and had Samus go to a populated city or something. As it stands now, it kinda looks like more of the same.

Yeah heh, she is a Bounty Hunter after all.............I think.

Yeah, like have Samus actually go after some bounties for once.

Metroid is all about feeling isolated in an alien enviroment having a populated city just wouldn't feel right.

If thats what you want go play that Star Wars: Bounty Hunter game ;

Or the multi-platform gem "Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter" ;)

Woohoo \o/

I love MP.

Games don't get anymore polished than this, and rarely entertain on so many levels *i'm looking at you Doom 3 :/*

Except those games suck. I think Retro could put it in more diverse settings and still maintain the "Metroid feel." How about a bounty escapes post-apocalptic type city planet where you have to find out what happened and catch the crook?

super metroid for snes will remain as the best IMO

That depends on what games you like.

Don't expect a first person shooter (you can't look up and down or 'free aim' while moving) My mate hated MP, disliking the pace and the fighting (he basically wanted Halo on the GC) There's also a fair bit of backtracking - as with all Metroid games, new abilities allow you to access previously unreachable areas.

MP is an adventure game - one to take your time over and explore. If you stuck Zelda in a space suit, made the view first person and put him on an alien planet, you get MP. (btw - it's the most perfectly realised and 'believable' alien planet you'll find in a video game :) The locations are varied and looks fantastic - each accompanied with an equally suitable, and excellent, sound track)

Read some reviews - imo it's one of the best games ever made (an opinion generally shared with gamers and the industry alike) and stands head and shoulders above titles like Doom 3 (which, let's face it, is a one trick pony with very little substance)

looks kinda crap to me. Any1 care to say whats so good about it?

Its depth, gameplay, atmosphere, art direction, sound track and polish :)

Read some reviews (in terms of maturity and engagement MP is up there with the best the pc has to offer. Infact, it puts most pc titles to shame in this respect. All this on the little GameCube - which everyone knows is for kids :/ ;))

Graphical quality is definately improved, more polygons, crisper textures, better shadows and lighting, drops of water on visor when you pass through steam instead of a texture and of course an awesome art style.

The Metroid series, Metroid Prime included, are some of the best videogames ever made. Saying any differently is akin to calling Da Vinci a hack; it says more about you than about the games.
That said, Metroid Prime's story does seem to be more active. There is activity going on between The races of the light and dark halves of the planet, and Federation Troopers as well as the Space Pirates are somehow involved. It all looks very intriguing.

MP was such an excellent old game brought back to life. And MP2 looks just as amazing. Am I the only one that is extremely scared to play through the Space Pirate Lab area in Phendrana Drafts? Shut the light off, lock your door, turn the volume up, scarier than Doom 3. *pisses pants*

And having Omega Pirates bursting out from glass tubes isn't exactly easy on the heart! XD

EDIT: w00tz0r Bullsquid

EDIT: EDIT: Also, for those who like Metroid, go pick up Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission. Both are very fun, albeit a little short if you play the game every day, but very very fun.

This generation of gamers are best described in two words:

GRAPHIC WHORES!

Jeez, you know there is something also called "gameplay" which is ten times more important than looks. Metriod prime was not the best looking game for the gamecube - but it was definately the most atmospheric and fantastic experience a gamer could have on the console. :hmph:

Couldn't agree more.

I played Metroid Prime on NGC a couple of times and it's pretty cool. I especially like the menu of the game :)

Well excuse me for not owning a game cube and playing MP, u ass.

And i didnt mean 'looks' as in graphics, i meant it looks crap as a whole.

Which you judged by a screenshot...

You managed to judge the whole game from a couple of pics?

Screw the haters anyway, it their loss not ours.

btw I saw one of the new suits earlier, its quite different to any of the suits in Prime and I think maybe the luminoth have constructed it for Samus.

I personally think MP looks better then Doom 3. Sure, the gfx aren't as detailed, and the lighting/shadows are basic in comparison, but the gameworld looks wonderful. The artwork is far more creative and interesting, the locations diverse.

Having a super engine is one thing - but what's more important is what you do with it.

Indeed - I love Metriod's art direction. Also every little detail from samus's face reflecting (near an explosion) - down to the water dripping on her visor - it's things like these which really immerse you in the game.

What the fack, those look like Nintendo DS or something.

I'm sorry, I'm not usually a graphic whore but jesus, that looks worse than the first one, a lot worse.

edit: oh is it the one for Nintendo DS? Then I'm o.k.

MP was ok, but it was too slow for me. There were very few enimies, although the enviroments were huge and beutiful. The guns were just not that satisfying for me either.

I just think it doesnt look like a good game. Thats my opinion.

those screens look amazing. cant wait for echoes, its gonna rock!

/me huggs my gamecube.

What always got me about MP was the sheer size of the game. There must have been hundreds, if not over a thousand, rooms in that game. No two ever repeated, and each was immersive and impressive. I cannot comprehend the amount of work that went into something like that.
And some of the Chozo Ruins are better looking than many games I play today.
