Well I finally made the plunge and bought an LCD monitor. I've been hesitant since I've heard bad things about them for gaming. I purchased a ViewSonic VP201b and all I can say is, WOW! This monitor is great. I used an old Gateway 20" viewable before this and it was always dark and bland. I never knew colors could look this good.
I did find one bad pixel but, it was in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and, I can only see it if there's a white background and I'm looking for it. Any other colors and I can't see it at all.
I fired up Half-Life 2 to see if there would be any ghosting and I can happily say there is NONE The colors look SO much better than they did with my CRT; it's unbelievable.
The Native Res is 1600x1200 so if you don't have a beefy GFX card then you might want to pick one up later on. The screen still looks good in other resolutions though.
If you're thinking about making the plunge like I did, then I highly recommend this monitor. It is kind of spendy but its well worth it.
