How would a 3GHz, 2 GB of ram, 19" Flatscreen, 256MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GS Run HL2?
Episode 1? (Meaning how well would it run EP1)

should, since my p4 2.2ghz, 1 gb ram, 19" flat panel, 128mb geforce mx4000 ran it damn well for a dx7 card.
I'm assuming your using a p4?

Anyways, would it run it on all full? Cause I want a beautiful HL2EP1 Experience.
BTW How well would it run Oblivion?

The 7900GS is a good card although a little slower than the 7900GT. 4 less pixel shaders, lower clock. Is this a dell?

The rig in my sig runs it at 1280x1024, full HDR, max settings flawlessly.
Although you can't do antialiasing and HDR with nvidia cards sadly; but with 1280x1024 you dont really need it.

I have half the ram of yours, and an x800xt 256mb card, but about 200mhz more CPU and I run oblivion fine.

It will run oblivion perfectly. You see, he has a Conroe CPU. His cpu blows yours out of the ocean. Unless he actually bought Core Duo instead of Core 2 Duo. I hope for you you made a typo there, freeman.

I say "Good." By good I mean really good. One thing I have to say though, GET AN AMD PROCESSOR! :hmph: Unless AMD realeased a 3 ghz processor without me knowing.
Just kidding man. Have fun with that kickass computer.
My specs:
Athlon xp 2500+
1.75 gb RAM
GeForce fx 5900 (128 mb. Should have got a 5950 or 5900 ultra :()
I run it fine on all high settings, with antialiasing x2 and anisotropic or whatever filtering at x2. I'd say I get about 30 fps average.

Note that he has a Conroe 3ghz. Which would be the $999 X6800, which is the fastest cpu there is.

How would A 256MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GS Run HDR?

Helloe, Do you guys (And girls) know how my 256MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GS would run HDR? And since I'm not the one buying the PC, I can't get the better graphics card, cause it's $600 more onto the price and we already sent out the order.

Dude. I have an X800XT PE and I can run it maxed out. You'll be golden.

You should be able to pull off full settings on any Source game.

However with other games don't expect to be able to have HDR and AA on at the same time. One or the other.

What's that?

And my card dosn't support HDR?
NOOOOOOO!
You're all to tech savvy

your card supports HDR, god dammit... the problem is that it cant do AA and HDR at the same time. i wouldn worry about that...

As for the processor, u mentioned it was a 3 ghz Core duo, which is a E6800, the fastest cpu in the world right now, so why are u freaking out? yes, it will run HL EP 1 at max settings flawlessly at around 80+ fps.

I'm wondering if some of the people who post their new PC specs that are pretty good actually get erections by telling people about it.

HL2 Episode 1? 'Of Course' DING!

Oblivion? 'Oh my me, there is a godddddddddddd'

Yeah... i wonder that too. thats why i dun game so much anymore, cuz i dun want to get annoyed by my pc... so i go out very often and play in a band. life is good for me...

I think I meant Dual core, sorry. I'm not that good with names.

Yep I just checked on the Dell site and it's not a Core 2 Duo pc. It's a regular "Dual Core" Pentium D 3.2ghz cpu. Pity.

There currently is an offer that gives you a free cpu upgrade to 3.2ghz.

And pity because the Conroe is a way more advanced cpu. It's faster, cheaper, cooler (in terms of heat) and more energy efficient. Read the article I PMed you.

Not entirely true. You WILL be able to run HDR + AA in source games, but not in Oblivion.

How many times do you want to hear it?

ahum..

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: THE NEW PC OF GordonFreeman911 WILL RUN ALL SOURCE-BASED GAMES, INCLUDING HL2: EP1, ON FULL DETAIL, EVERY OPTION MAXED OUT AND WITH HDR ENABLED PERFECTLY.

I REPEAT, GordonFreeman911 HAS A FAST PC!

If that was about 100 times smaller, I'd sig it.
And I was getting confused with "It'll run one or the other"
"It'll run both"
Ect.

Yes it will still look nice. You simply can't enable HDR and AA at the same time. HDR is prefered over AA because HDR tends to smooth things out already. So just play the game without AA.

you rule, Brick, you're the only one that MAKES SHENS here.
And I can live without AA, I've had to live without it in Source, and a broken Xbox 360 Rental that my sister Fauked up. But does that mean both Antistropic and Antialasting, or just Antialasting?

*Gives Brick an Uber cookie*

Just Anti-Aliasing. You can still enable AF (Anisotropic Filtering).

i think some people need to read some reviews on hardware, especially top shit like that, b4 asking silly questions.
