So I'm starting to look into getting a nice new PC and thought it would be a pretty good idea to post up what I'm looking at so far to make sure its all going to work fine together.

So here it is... with a few questions!

Is there enough watt'age on the PSU?
Does the CPU fit the mobo ok?!
What CPU fan do I want?
Does the ram fit?!

And lastly is it possible to have two different resolutions on 2 different monitors?

I'm sure I can get this stuff cheaper else where so I will hunt around but right now just trying to figure out what I want.

Thanks for any help!

gives links to those items, I don't see that specific motherboard on the .com site.
But the psu and ram are fine.

if the cpu is socket 775 then it should fit in the mobo, if you don't plan to OC, then the included cpu fan/heatsink should be fine.

Yes to all your questions. Although I would go with a Corsair PSU as they are renowned for their outstanding reliability and quality. Have a look out for them.

I have the same CPU (in fact I bought my entire PC from OCuk too), and it's extremely overclockable but I wouldn't use the stock cooler for a Q6600. Get yourself some arctic silver thermal paste, and a new HSF. How much would be looking to spend on one? I did a lot of research before buying my Q6600 on the best HSFs for it.

I'll be happy to spend a few quid keeping the cpu cool, i guess i need some silver past stuff and a badass fan but to me they all look the same. Which one would you recommend?

I'm guessing that's a yes to the OC thing. But what does it matter? I mean unless the fan itself is bigger the only other difference will be speed right? Which you can just use a program like Speedfan for.

I'm just using the stock cooler on my Q6600 and its at perfectly cool temps. If you're overclocking then I'd get a better cooler, but if not, then I wouldnt bother.

For your paste you'll need this cheap little thing, it will be plenty - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=AC-000-AC

Look up the guide through the arctic silver website how to apply for quad cores as you need to cover all 4 cores, it's simple but needs to be done correctly.

If you want really nice and solid temperatures with a little OC'ing then the best value for money and performance is the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler. Will fit your mobo and CPU obviously, and comes highly recommended. See reviews.

For the top end of the scale there are the big players like the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and the Tuniq Tower, both out of stock at the moment on OCuk, and very expensive compared to the reasonable Freezer Pro. These are for higher end overclocking in a fairly large case. If you want to go beyond this...next step is water cooling = $$$

That artic cooling freezer is looking pretty pimp and im sure it will do what I need.

Thanks for the help. Will check the bank today and see how the funds are looking :)

So I totaly didnt around to getting that pc :P

And will be getting a new one next week! Beucase the week after I'm on holidays and have time to be in for delivery + put it all together. So This is what I'm planning.

I'm going to shop around a bit to get the cheapist price etc so if you know any cheap good webites let me know!

helluva machine for below £1000, I don't know anything about the PhenomII/AM3 platform though.

There is more than enough wattage

that 0900GTX+ consumes about 350 to 400w of power under load, and the CPU maybe another 100? on load

No, no, no, no, and no.

You're doing it wrong.

Go to ginger6 for beast computers for crazy cheap.

I have swapped out the AMD for a smiler Pentium and mobo to fit withit. Is a little more expensive but still under a grand :)
