"Next time you're like makin' Metroid gimme a call I'll totally eat that"

Not from the ZP parody part but gave me a good laugh.

Is it really 230MB?

If so, **** that.

Can't wait to watch, downloading now.

Edit: Argh too shoooort!

Woah, I missed that; was checking the website and everytime I was thinking 'damn, still long to wait'. I thought it was coming around the 20th.

Great episode. LOLed a few times, like at Dave snapping the disc in two or Doug jumping from the tree in the background. :D

Wow, I've never watched a full episode of PurePwnage, but I need to see the next one NOW.

Faking a British accent (badly) and speaking somewhat quickly is not parody... or maybe I'm missing something because I stopped it 30 seconds in because it was such a poor imitation...

It was supposed to be an obviously fake accent (Australian BTW) and yes doing such to mock is the definition of parody...

Nope. Ben Croshaw is a Brit living in Australia, not an Australian. It says so in the write-up under every episode of Zero Punctuation.

He makes fun of his own shitty accent later in the parody. If you watched it you would know.

I streamed it.. Zero Punctuation is a billion times better..

Meh. T'was mildly amusing but his voice was annoying so I couldn't watch more than two minutes.

Wow. What are you talking about? It's a parody of it. It's not supposed to be 'better' or even 'as good'. It's not about how 'good' it is at all. You're obviously completely missing the joke, or the definition of parody.

This wasn't parody, this was an imitation. And not a very good or witty one for that matter.

I didn't even know PurePwnage was still around btw.

The **** are you talking about? Imitation? My god. By imitation, you mean they're trying to make something just like Zero Punctuation, in attempt to duplicate its success, or something? Please look up the word parody.

Pure Pwnage has done these parodies before. They did one of Strong Bad Email. What's that, imitation? "Oh durr it's a billion times worse durr"

You people... What is wrong with you.

They didn't laugh, so they want to try to overblow it so everybody else agrees with them.

"Ok, I got it dude, I got it. Nades and knives."
"Ok, nades and knives"
...
"Hahahaha. That was AWESOME."
"Doug, you just shot me."
"Yeah, I know."
"I thought we were playing nades and knives."
"Yeah, I'm using those too."

Great humor as always.

lol idd. I am still not convinced though. Parodies are used to make ridicule of the subject. I didn't see that happening here. They simply imitated Yathzee's style and to my taste failed at it. They should've called it a tribute.

Regardless of what anyone says, that falls more into the guidelines of Imitation then Parody.

*google time*

Imitation is an advanced behavior whereby an individual observes and replicates another's.
A parody (pronounced [ˈpɛɹədiː] US, [ˈpaɹədiː] UK), in contemporary usage, is a work created to mock, comment on, or poke fun at an original work, its subject, or author, by means of humorous or satiric imitation.

The only aspect of parody in that video was when he made fun of his accent. Other then that it was an exact copy using the same kind of humor, art style, voice, etc, etc. Even talking about video games ffs.

Next time pick up a dictionary you oafs!

It was done as a parody. They poked fun at Yahtzee through the act of making the video itself.

Learn to comprehend things, you oaf!

Imitation implies that it was shamelessly copied in an attempt to replicate the success of Yahtzee's work.

This argument seems so useless. Why does it matter if it was a parody or an imitation? No need to break out the god damn Webster's 3rd edition definition out on us. It's designed to make you laugh. It's obvious some of us liked it while others seemed pissed off by it.

This is an incredibly useless argument.

*hugs Dog*
