New Radiohead Album "In Rainbows" in TEN DAYS

Ordered it last night for a fiver lol, but still haven't recieved my code :(

Hopefully theres a few links for this kicking around when I get home. I'll buy it if I like it.

I've only had a chance to listen once through, but I thoroughly enjoyed the first listen.

"Reckoner" and "Jigsaw Falling into Place" stood out to me. "Jigsaw" feels like another band, and I absolutely love that. Very mellow. Nice guitar. Enjoyable. Can't wait for another listen on my drive home.

I really like 15 Step, All I Need, and Videotape.

Reminds me of a cross between Hail to the Thief and Amnesiac. Very good stuff.

I'm only on the 2nd track, but this is pretty damn awesome so far. I am very pleased.

Orange Box
Radiohead
Sonic in SSBB

What a day! Shame none of them can be accessed by me today. Damn delayed new computer and Brawl not being out yet...

If only work would end quicker, I could get back to the Radiohead glory.

Edit: Oh, and I could also start charging through HL2:EP2.

Grrrrr....

I didn't think much of the first 2 songs, but the album seemed to get better and better as it went along.

15 steps was never a track i liked much. bodysnatchers just isn't quite as... mind blowing as the bootlegs.

everything else was perfect, cept videotape.

im on my... 9th listen of the album since i downloaded it in class this afternoon.

its very claustrophobic. the music sounds like it was recorded all in an air tight container about the size of a peanut butter jar. thom's voice however sounds like its coming down from atop a mountain... just drifting along in the mist.

its like amnesiac take 2.

Well my email never came but my mate kindly is gonna send me all the songs today since his did come. He gave me Nude and 15 Step as tasters, Nude was just amazing, and 15 Step I really enjoyed listening.

Sounds like they took a step back to the Kid A/Amnesiac era again, and I love them for it.

Well, I just listened to it...tbh I'm not that impressed.

It's a shame because for years Radiohead were my favourite band in the whole wide world. The album just doesn't have any of those amazing, eternally memorable tracks like Karma Police, Paranoid Android, Black Star, Pyramid Song...

Maybe it just needs more time.

The "Pay Now" page keeps crashing. I want this album goddamnit!

Try using Internet Explorer. The page doesn't seem to like Firefox very much.

reckoner, house of cards, jigsaw falling into place, nude... i dunno whats not to like.

Listened to it once last night, and maybe because it was tired that I really couldn't distinguish the last few tracks and thus was kind of disappointed by the album. But listening to it again, you guys are right... this is a grower... absolutely in love with it now.

First half is definitely better than the 2nd, though every song is great in its own way. Only song that is ehh is House of Cards, not sure of a favourite, they are all beautiful :)

Amazing Album, once again Radiohead proves that is the best band ever, I had the song "nude" since 2000, from a CD that is called "work in progress" finally they decided record it on studio, I also knew some of the songs because they played on their tour last year, I saw them live in Montreal, the arrangements are excellent, what can I say, I just can't stop listening to this beautiful master piece called "in rainbows"

Clearly an adbot.

IMMEDIATE IP BAN

Eh, it's alright. Nothing spectacular, but ok.

I <3 it as much as the new Iron and Wine album. And that says a f*cking LOT about both.

Yeah, it's incredible. It seems to change every time I hear it as well...

Listened to it 5 or 6 times over and still can't seem to get into the second half as much as the first. So either it's just not as good or it takes more growing...

It takes more growing. The second half didn't "click" until yesterday for me, and now House of Cards and Jigsaw Falling Into Place won't get out of my head.

I'm getting the album today, but can anybody tell me what it sounds like? Does it lean more heavily on their electronic stuff, or perhaps back to physical instruments, or does it balance them all pretty well like HTTT did?

It reminds me mostly of Amnesiac or maybe HTTT, but it's definitely weird. Reminiscent of The Eraser actually.

I couldn't help myself and downloaded the first track. I don't know what some people here are bitching about. I think it's brilliant. When the beat develops that "crunching noise" around 2:40 it almost sounds like something from Tri Repetae.

I need more!

Mmm, I love the drums in 15 Step. But my favorite bit is definitely when you hear the kids yelling out "YAY!" because it makes me grin every time :D

Listened to all of it yet Absinthe?

I can't stop listening to Weird Fishes/Arpeggi... when the bass kicks in at the end my ears orgasm.

I really like the whole thing, but Reckoner is doing it for me right now.

Indeed I have. As with each Radiohead release, I need it to grow on me for a while. I have a few standouts, of course. "Step 15", "Reckoner", and "Weird Fishes / Arpeggi" are all brilliant and I love them. But a lot of the others have yet to grab me by the balls.

To be honest, I was expecting the album to be different. Not that it's a bad thing, it just surprised me. But given Yorke's last output of The Eraser, I guess I was just envisioning another plummet into the deep where they left off with Kid A and Amnesiac.

So I'm going to give it some more time.

If it's anything like my own experience with the album so far it grows on you immensely. I was slightly meh to begin, now I love it.

I didn't expect it though, I thought this album would be... darker, I guess.

You can only make a CD titled "In Rainbows" so dark...

Only Venetian Snares could do that, just to be cheeky.

I wouldn't put it past Radiohead honestly. Generally I was expecting that because Hail to the Thief had a slight edge of mania to it, so I thought we'd see more of that, but instead it's ... whatever In Rainbows is. Which is good.

its like being depressed, and knowing your depressed, but being on happy pills.
