Dude, time to get your eyes checked RE5 is miles ahead of RE4 visually. Some of the textures could be better, but overall it looks nice and crisp and gameplay super smooth in motion. As much as I like RE4, last time I loaded it up it looked like a blurry mess.

That 1up vid is worth watching - the co-op looks better than I thought and it seems like you'll really have to watch out for your buddy as the horde come rushing in /o\

Well compared to say Dead Space, Far Cry 2, Crysis, it doesn't really look all that great..

That's subjective. I think Crysis looks quite average (drab, cluttered) and haven't seen anything in Dead Space that looks better - darker, certainly, with far less going on and more confined. I'm not overly fussed about visuals in games - if the gameplay is solid they're just gravy - but am impressed by how much is going on in RE5, how smooth it looks and how good the animation is. I've no doubt that RE5 will play absolutely ****ing awesome, though, and that's the important part

But honestly I think RE5 looks mediocre, all I've seen in gameplay videos so far for the most part is recycled enemies, recycled animations.. No way I'm paying full price for that.
