New release of Empires pending

The guys behind the popular RTS/FPS fusion modification Empires have sent word that an update is imminent within the next few weeks, featuring all-new weapon models, animations, and ironsights.

As we've said in the past, our next release will feature all new weapon models and animations, and all rifle weapons will have iron sights for their secondary fire mode. All SMGs will retain their melee attack. All of the Northern Faction models and animations have been completed, but the Brenodi Empire animations have not. Our desire to get the next release out there is increasing every day, and it appears that we're going to go ahead and release within the next few weeks without all new weapon models and animations. This has been the only factor holding back the next release.

It's great, and would be even greater with an upped player limit. I played for twenty minutes without meeting anyone once. :frog:

There's been a few attempts at pick up games over the last few weeks and they've turned out to be quite popular. The host server is usually full during that time with regulars, spilling over into other servers.


But I agree, you need a decently filled server to have any fun.

Great news. When I got my new PC I completely forgot about this, it's nice to see they're still doing work on it.
