New Gamespot report of Supreme Commander (thread includes archieved report)

Gamespot has just put there 10am report on the net, it was supposed to contain a report of Supreme Commander, but due to unforseen scheduling problems they couldn't show it

Whilst the main force of GPG developers spearhead E3, their lone gunman, the beloved 'Grease Garage Monkey', has decided it was the right time to flank the main opposition and hit us where it hurts.

Unfortunately the quality is low, but its enough to wet our appertite till the 2pm presentation by Chris Taylor himself.

The video is stocked in flash however so you will have to navigate (Before you ask, they replaced the static images with a video)

First thing I notice, some actual good in-game music! I hardly ever notice the music in RTS games anymore, but this stuff is epic!

Edit: I just noticed that some of the trees that were knocked down suddenly pops right back up.

yay, the first time I have seen supcom in full motion action, and its everything I imagined it to be! I want this so bad. It's like the new TA, scaled up to 2000 times its original size, with hundreds of units on a massive scale. I especially love how the lasers simply pulse for a few milliseconds (much cooler than sustained lasers) I also like how quickly the rockets travel and how much fire is put up in the air. The only thing I was a little dissapointed in was the general lack of ballistics.

Although the UEF tanks had some ballistics to their shots, they simply didn't look like bullets. I would have preferred the tank blasts for the UEF to be smaller, and with their blue trail being deformed with the ballistic trajectory

Other than that it looks so fantastic, so fluid, so INCREDIBLE!!

late 2006 and early 2007 will be a great time for gaming. spore, supreme commander, the wii with new marios and zeldas...ah I can't wait.

Those spiders are...beastily, scary stuff. If you liked the WOTW tripods, I think its safe to say you will like these units :naughty:

Jesus the torrent is going at 580 kb, took me a minut to download it.

Dammed was that game run on a silicon graphics machine, cause the game looks like it will butt rape any computer consumers can trow at it for the next 2 years.

yeah the monkeylords as they're called are really cool, they take a ton of firepower before they go down

another cool thing that was just heard about was that sup com will nativly support dual monitors, used for keeping one zoomed out and the other one closer up amongn other things
