I guess, it wasn't that clever or catchy... what was so nice about it?

Well I'm not saying I agree that the clip was gay, I think the game looks pretty fun and I pre-ordered it... so whatever... but I don't praise it...

ppl its just a product, not a god or something... you get so defensive and so excited when ppl gang up on skeptical ppl... whatever who cares. if it's good, it's good, if it's not, oh well, move along... if you like it and someone doesn't, really, who cares? does it affect you if someone hates the game and you enjoyed it? its suppossed to be entertaining... if u liked it and it entertained u, then be happy, whether or not everyone else loved or hated it shouldn't matter.

the passion is good... just pour it into something more meaningful...

and to the person who said it was a "gay little clip" that's cool, I'm pretty neutral on the game, I hope its fun but if its not oh well... but yeah, rather than write that you should just give some details, like "it looked like the same thing we've seen in every other FPS" or "I wasn't impressed with the animations" or some details, don't be so vague... so I am curious, what didn't you like?

Im a very hype type of guy. The n1 was just for fun. I love videos and media in general for games im really hyped about. Just me. Love reading or seeing something and then having butterflies in my stomach.

That's what I need cleared up. Why is SiN so highly anticipated? It looks mediocre at best. I seriously think I must be missing something.

Give the man a break. Two of your replies have had some pretty shocking grammer too.

Anyway I'll take a look at the vid, I havent yet. I'm probably going to buy the game but it's not one I'm particully excited about. It looks pretty average thus far, very by the numbers. But for the price they are asking I may as well give it a go I reckon, hell I can skip the later episodes if it does blow.

Personally I find this clip a step back in time.
Highly scripted and let's face it: it just doesn't look real.
Lighting is also not very impressive.
It just looks like some games you can find in the budget-corner in your local gameshop.

On-topic: That's the nicest atmosphere in a map that I've seen. Almost.

While the clip was quite satisfying, I hope they really work a better script into the game this time round - I never got to play the original Sin when it first appeared, but playing it via the pre-order I'm finding while the game is still quite playable, the script really does grate. It seems while trying to script a protagonist in the style of Duke Nukem or a no-nonsense one-liner cop character like John McClane, they missed the bar and ended up with the equivalent of a cheap Seagal B-movie.

Hopefully, through the advantages that the episodic format gives, maybe more thought can be placed on script and especially characterisation. It looks good as a lot of the first episode seems focused on the new character, Jessica, so maybe each episode will concentrate on a different character or character-driven plot arc.

While this is a case of apples & oranges, taking into consideration that the estimated time of each episode is 4-6 hours and there are a possible nine episodes, there is a potential for at least 36 hours of gameplay. Compare this to 24 or Lost, both series are 24 episodes long, clocking in at 40 minutes giving around 16 hours of screen-time. So there is a great potential with both Sin and the HL2 episodes for twisting plot arcs and deep characterisation. While I doubt the Sin plot will go deep enough to make us feel the trauma of say Jack Bauer, there's certainly enough gaming time to provide more than lame one-liners and B-movie plot-lines.

I'm actually a bit more optimistic about this game now. I was a bit disappointed with what I'd seen so far, but now I know they're gonna have fun Time Crisis-esque gameplay like that, I'm much more anticipant.
