it's a bit blury but besides from that it's all good :)

hey mike i know most of the tuts suges using dodge and burn ..which is excelent if ur doing organics or just a few small highlights but you might want to look into using seelections and shapes for shading via the layer modes .

i do a combo, for like the ridges and stuff that sticks out from the side, i select it make a new layer and then dodge and burn it, i guess i went to far.

ty, yeah it the lighting is off mainly cuz there is none in the scene

i wasnt talking about the scene, i was takling about the textures. The grip area especially, it has no shadows. There's one giant highlight around that extruded in area at the bottom, that makes no sense.

Looks good, although I agree the lighting looks a bit wierd, and perhaps a bit overdone. Maybe tone it down a little.

Also, kind of off topic, but the muzzle is a bit fat

the barrel hasnt been skinned yet, and for the lighting i am working on it. this is the third time i have made a skin, so i am still gettting the technique, and this is the first time i tried to make a silver gun slide.

will this be used in a game? if so then who cares about lighting on a prototype screenshot?

is that overly critical or is it me?

also if its not gonna be used in a game why make it...?

/im new to modeling

lighting is a key aspect of any 2d painting wether it be in a game or not .
as for models people dont just make models for games they make them for movies and all sorts of things . its an art form .
