damn it theres no spoilers there unless you dont give a shit about star wars in the 1st place in which case it doesnt matter.

star wars 1 to 3 are shit ADMIT IT! the 4,5,6 episodes were so fantastical because i grew to love them when i was 3 / 6 years old! they lost their charm when lucas went from puppets to cgi imo too and tried to write it for adults with cenates and other wax..

how is episode 3 shit if you havent seen it?

because i'm john titor dude.

seriously tho I have a hyperspace account and from what i've seen thusfar george is gonna try and dazzle us with cgi and fight scenes as he did with the last two.

i mean the video where he comes out with the scipt and is like "teh 1st draftz0r! oh you know when I cant think of shit I just pad it out with 'they fight'" takes the piss.

he's too old to be doing star wars and no way should he be directing it. a little info incase you didnt know: after sw 1 (i.e. ep 4), which is my least favourite of THE trilogy lucas had a nervous breakdown and this was the only one out of the three directed by him... seeing a pattern here?

ep 1 shit
ep 2 shit
ep 3 prolly shit
ep 4 shit
ep 5 good
ep 6 exellent

all the shit ones are directed by lucas! wooo... roll on may 2005, I think not! and thanks to doug chiang the continuity between them sucks ass too, but his designs were visually stunning.. and i have a mega soft spot for italy.. *ahem* I mean naboo.

Episode 3 is shit because George Lucas is involved with it.

I hope there's a huge battle between furry dwarf rabbits (the spritual predecessor to the ewok) and millions of CG clone troopers.

Bare in mind that this may be a trick from Lucas side, until the day "Return of the Jedi" was released the title of the movie he had told the public was "Revenge of the Jedi" just so they would know what was pirate toys and not etc..

The problem with the recent movies is that CGI doesn't look 100% realistic yet. We haven't mastered it yet every moron and his film crew is off using it. The new Star Wars movies fell into this trap and if you look at the 'atmosphere' of the original movies that helped attract so many people to the fanbase then you'll see why there is so much hate towards 1,2 and now, 3.

On top of that you have the fact they wanted to attract younger generations to their horde of fans so they added in little jokes and the unfortunate "Jar Jar Binks". Who'd of thought just one character can ruin the reputation of films connected to some of the biggest films ever made.

As you can see this partially worked because every now and then you get someone come along who was never really around when it was just 4, 5 and 6 and they think "wow, these new star wars films are excellent" and "Jar Jar Binks is so funny!!1". How mistaken they are.

For the few thousand people who thought they were great they've annoyed a few million who enjoyed the supremacy of the original films.

Way to go, Lucas.

At least they tried to get away from the first film by semi-removing JarJar and returned the "dark atmosphere", lets just hope they do that again for the third film. Which I'm sure they will.

To be honest the films should of been done in the same way the originals were. Models, no cgi, etc but in this day and age you simply can't justify that. Shame really because under the Star Wars name they'd of got away with it.

To me, SW was never more interesting than watching grass grow, Jar Jar changed it from boring to annoying.

Here's my opinion:

Star Wars rocks. The original trilogy is the best Sci-Fi ever made.
All the music, the atmospheric pauses, the characters.. Almost perfection.

Episode One is a blasphemy to the SW-universe, and it's because of all these kid-stereotypes like Boss Nass, Watto and Jar Jar stumbling on everything and saying stupid(supposed to be funneh) stuff like guys do in saturday morning kid-cartoons on TV. And the ending sequence is way too bad with that celebration music, a kid-choir. He basically made it too "funneh" and childish.

Battling robots , bah! You're supposed to be battling stormtroopers, at least humanoids! Robots are just an excuse so those kids mothers and fathers won't get angry.

Star Wars episode 2 is a huge lift. It's more darker and mature. Zam Wesell is a really cool character, too bad she dies so early. Mace Windu is one of the coolest jedi characters ever made. But still, too much CG. Like D33 said, it'd be better with much less CG and models and stuff instead, and cut all these eye-candy stuff and do something like the stuff that made the original trilogy so magic, like when Luke goes out to watch the two suns setting, and he's feeling all sad.
But the music rises to such a grade that you still see that there's hope for him.
If there was stuff like this in the new movies , it'd be alot closer to the original trilogy.

So far, it seems to me like EP III will be quite cool, pulling the strings together. But it'll be very dark, I just hope it doesn't become too dark since that's not Star Wars.

Man, I need to get my hands on some good copies of the original trilogy. Oh, and the NON-special versions. Thats the #1 thing that has annoyed me about Star Wars recently.

Star Wars was nice when I was little, but I've grown out of the films a little I think :)

The guy who did anakin you mean? Because if you do i agree. I found him to be more annoying than jar jar.

I view almost all of the Star Wars films as genuinly fun films to watch. They're not masterpieces of perfection in my eyes, although I am aware of the significance they had within the genre. I simply think they were fun films. All except Episode 2. There was the ocassional enjoyable part, but Anakin and Boba Fett (in little, annoying what-the-hell-does-actor-mean kid mode) annoyed the crap out of me, effectively spoiling the movie. Hell, Anakin was more tolerable in Episode 1.

Ya all the Star Wars movies IMO were just fun, not terrific. Its the extended universe that kept me interested in them.

Yep, I love the Dark Horse comics of Star Wars much more than the films :)

Didnt I say that?

Guess I kinda did :p

To add to what you said though it obviously is justifiable for continuity (even in the Lucas camp) when he isnt the only one with a say in the matter.

Indiana Jones 4 is going to be filmed using the same techniques of the first three films i.e. rudementary special effects and puppets, so why couldnt they do this for star wars :(

Yeah but I don't read your posts ( bar this one ) much thesedays :)

Jar-Jar isn't really a funny-just-for-kids character. He actually is part of the storyline. He becomes a Senator and with some other dudes gives emergency powers to Palpatine and thus we have the Empire. George Lucas probably made him a bit funny for the kids just so SW wouldn't be too serious.
The new 2 movies kinda suck compared to the First three. But like I said, they're still good but they had the best lightsaber fights and isn't that what really matters?
Star Wars for some reason is always involved with a pattern.
Like the ratings the parallel between movies, not to mention the title

Lets look at the original trilogy.

Star Wars Ep.4-A New Hope
Star Wars Ep.5-The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars Ep.6-Return Of The Jedi

Now let's take a look see at the prequel trilogy

Star Wars Ep.1-The Phantom Menace
Star Wars Ep.2-Attack Of The Clones
Star Wars Ep.3-Gotta start with A

I just looked at the pictures....and they didn't ruin ANYTHING for me.....I don't understand how they could.

Anyways, as for Episode 1 and 2 sucking....I watched Episode 1 recently (again), and it made me realize how annoying the kid and jar jar were. Other than that...ok, no, it was just bad.

I did like Episode 2 though, I thought it was a good movie, so much better than the first 1.

LotR 3 has one MAJOR editing flaw in the first five minutes of the film. It is when the camera is coasting to a castle and smoke from a chimny goes INTO THE CHIMNY!!! This means that origionaly the camera was flying away from the castle and that they were so damn lazy to reshoot the scene to get it right.

Actually, I believe that occurs in the Two Towers too. Sometimes you have to make do with what you have in the editing room.

one things for sure: episode 3 isnt going to win 11 oscars like TLOTR: ROTK

arr goddamit, no-one said those pics were spoilers - GODDAMMIT. *crumples into ruined heap*

Ahh yeah, after everything they did in the three films, working their butts off for years trying to get things right they were just damn lazy for that little tiny shot, yeah, that must be it  They should all be fired, its a travesty of an accident of a mistake. /sarcasm

if episode 3 is as bad as two im not gonna even bother seeing it....

seriosly i fell asleep during 2.

30 minutes of pure BS dialogue is not my kind of sci-fi action.... :hmph:
