Right-click on the Steam icon. Then go to Properties, and at the end of the target field, enter in '-clientbeta betaui'. Click OK.

So it should look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\steam.exe" -clientbeta betaui

Restart Steam.

Bingo.

darn it ain't working, anything special that I should do?

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

VALVe should just release it now :p I love the design, I like it a lot.

Uh oh, looks like the custom steam skins will need to be re-done. :p

It does look more professional. I like the little arrow on the top right-corner that shrinks the MyGames menu down to its original size. Also the fact that it tells you the status of your games in the same window is convenient.

Watch out, I posted this at steampowered and my thread got deleted . I guess it's still supposed to be secret... whoopsy :p

I love it, btw I didn't relize you could by HL: Source by itself now... When did that happen?(In the new GUI you can buy HL:S alone)

Did some digging, looks like they're going to rearrange the price of Half-Life 2 and all the othergames, and not for the better either.

-Half-Life 2 (Plus lost coast) is 40 bucks.. No CS:Source, No Half-life: Source. For a mere 10 bucks more, you can get the Game of the Year edition at retail. Or you can just buy a marked down copy of retail HL2 for 30 bucks and get CS:Souce and HL2: DM.
-Source Multiplayer Pack is 40 bucks and is the same thing as retail (CS:S, DOD:S and HL2:DM).. Where's the savings for going with Steam?
-Source Premier Pack is 60 bucks; and only comes with the current source games (The current Silver pack is a much better deal as it comes with all that PLUS all the older games as well) (No Lost Coast too; however, I think that's a mistake since this IS beta)
-Valve Complete Pack Comes with all the Source games, and all the HL1 engine games; for 80 bucks. Half-Life 2 Silver comes with all of that and is only 60 bucks. Gold is 5 bucks more that this complete pack and comes with a box full of crap...

However, it does look like everything is going to be available seperately, so you'll be able to get Half-Life: Source for 10 bucks if you missed it hte first time. Also, Richochet, DMC and DoD come with the CS1 anthology now..

Hopefully these ludicrous price increases are just the subject of this being beta and they'll be dropped to more realistic prices before this new update is officially released.

they need to ditch the inner glow or lower the opacity, and fix up the positiong/background on the icons; also, the text positioning on the tabs is a bit off.

the bevel/emboss buttons are horrible, they may have been good in the early 90's and they need to fix the curves on the windows.

let's hope they change it :x

OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG  sorry, loving this new beta, looks f****** mint !!!

Finally got rid of the old green ugly-looking steam, this new one is fresh and fine:D

I agree, looks very good and professional !
about time to tho, cus the old UI was to plain and boring!
Friends, still does not work tho!
Good work Valve!
SFPL1.

Looks sweet. But I wonder if it works as good as it looks. I never judge the book by its cover...

The best part about the new UI for me is how much faster it is.... much improved over the old one.

Great, some bugs (like if you want to enter cd-key), but overall a big improvement! :)

But on average, nearly all of the people who know about this already own Half-life 2 at least. So there's no point of it in a beta (Also the inside testing team already had the games)

I love the new look, and to re-iterate; It does seem to work faster, which is nice.
