New Steam Update!

Steam Update 07/23/04

Changes/Additions:

+Added errors for improved instability
+Added extra lag
+Game will now crash every five minutes

Ever since the last update Steam crashes with this cheeseball error message, it's really stupid that they would release a patch that actually adds errors instead of fixing them...

hmm.. must be just u because i was playing before and after the update and experienced no errors whatsoever.

hmm.. u sure u weren't playing while Steam was updating?
because if theres one thing i've learned.. that is Steam does not like u playing while its updating itself.
 
Freeman go check the steampowered forums you'll see what I mean.
 
noooo this happens all the time, usually when someone uses a scoped weapon
happens with awp or scout so far..

My rates are 25000 25000 101 101 and 0 loss 0 choke but I get these freezes every minute or so.

Steam worked better during beta...
 
Oh, quit your whining. I haven't had an issue with Steam since this update since it really came out of beta (anyway, it's only a CS problem, not a Steam problem, bad update..).
 
I guess you'd of rather had VALVe not update CS at all for all these years? :|
 
No, I'd rather have them acknowledge the problems they create, post somewhere that they know what's going on and that they're working on it. And what's the point of having these mini-patches every two days that add nothing but problems? and I'm not talking about gameplay issues here.
 
I experience these errors also, It's really quite annoying.

I have never had a memory reading error involving Steam before.

Because they are trying to fix exploits that people bitch about, and then when they do fix them people bitch even more.

VALVe can't really win, if errors occur theres no end to bitching and when they actually do something good they hardly get any praise whatsoever.

Can people not realise all humans make errors, and possibly wait for a fix?
 
I think that valve is just creating an elaborate scheme to make people buy hl2 or cs:s when it comes out by making people start to get annoyed or hate regular cs. There doing this by making nmore errors in the game and increasing lagg etcetc. their evil and malicious i tell u maaallllicious! :rolling:

What the hell are you talking about? I'm telling you the patch makes CS crash and you're talking about fixing exploits?
 
His point was, the VALVe "fans" are never happy. If VALVe released an update that fixes bugs, people bitch and moan how they didn't fix X bug, or Y glitch.

If they release an update that attempts to fix those bugs/glitches, and it ultimately causes problems for alot of users, people bitch and moan because of that.

JUST BE GLAD THEY'RE NOT CRYTEK. Okay? :)
 
I sometimes get that error too that's in that picture, but only when I start STEAM. I restart STEAM and it works!!! BOO YA
 
i get a different error since the patch (hl.dll hl.exe errors and etc)

go to steam powered forums and read the 15 page long discussion with a mod. They wont acknowledge the fact that their update caused the problems, funny.
 
Here's a pic from a game last night, the CT actually defused the bomb while the three Ts around him lagged out :laugh:
 
Yay Valve released an update that fixed it !

Ever since the last update every time i go to launch any HL game and CZ it just goes to a black screen for like 2 secs and then goes back to steam at desktop like i hadnt tried to do anything. This started every since the latest patch. First problem i have had.

If you didn't get any error messages it could be that it's just updating. However they just released another update so quit/exit steam completely then log back in.
 
I already did and its not that is trying to update it just doesnt do anything after i launch it besides going to a black screen for a couple of secs and then back to desktop.
 
My steam doesn't work, it can't connect when i start my computer, so i have to work in offline-mode, and can't play any games.

same damn thing is happening to me i can't log on to steam at all.
 
take a look here. seems like the network has been having trouble for the last few hours.
 
Well hurray for the new update lol! Fix one problem add another, steam's motto ;)
 
You know something's wrong when you got more posts in the Support/help forum than in the General Discussion board.
 
I just decided to delete my whole steam folder and redownload everything which is going to take a while.
 
Grrrrr i always miss theese little episodes lol.

Im like OMGWTF STEAM CRASHZ0R!!!..... Then i turn on steam and it works.
