I use photoshop for drawing anyhoo but still

My filling in skills from school aint done me so well :)

Any tips on how to colour an image? Im a pure pencil drawing guy, never finished a pic ever.

Cheers dude. Seen all your stuff here and liked it all. Pleased you even looked at some of mine :)

EDIT:: Tryed some dodge and burn... looks a bit crappy

nice work you got there!! ;)
I have had my tablet a few months now, its also got that pressure sensibility thing, but its a shame I dont have a suitable program to be able to use that feature.. ;(

there's a short time limit in which you can edit posts.

nice work, by the way.

Rather than hijack someone else's post half way through I figured I'd hijack my own, sort of....

People often mention using palletes for colours and creating their own. I was just wondering how you go about doing this. For example, my spidy, why use a pallete when I can use dodge and burn?

because dodge and burn doesn't give you the correct tonal variation of your colors....it kills the vibrance of your colors. Dodge and burn are spotted a mile away, and should only be used very sparingly, or after you first understand how to use different color values.

Cheers finger. Liked I said, total noob so I don't quite understand what you mean but I get the idea.

This next guy I created by filling the main bits in simple colours then adding shadows by just putting a darker colour on it, not using dodge or burn ;)

I found that the edges were a bit hard on my shadows so I used the smudge tool to work them out. Highlight done with the same idea.

Oh, also I found that by using a different colour it ment that if I went over the same place it didnt burn it twice... if that makes sesne.. With burn if you burn one place then go over it by accident or your just trying to join two darker places then it would be brunt twice and look really dark.

P.S. Still can't draw faces :p

Cool :D - his left arm looks slightly out of proportion somehow though, and his stance makes you wonder how he's standing up lol.

Hes ment to be moveing to the right, sort of falling attack type thing :)

Yeah, looking at it now I agree that his right hand is a bitty small.
