New Team Fortress 2 Official Avatars

A new post has appeared on the Team Fortress 2 blog by the soldier himself. He does ramble on about other things but most importantly there are now 9 available avatars (1 for each class) available via Steam.[br]<center><center>

That's me lower right. When the photographer took my picture he asked me to act naturally, so I yelled at him to stop disgracing his family and get a real job

The references to hill defense make me wonder about some type of "king of the hill" game play mode in the future.

Probably not, but that might be interesting with TF2.

Good point though SirNuke, he does mention it twice, slightly odd to pull on the same joke twice (and it isn't majorly funny...seems to stick out a bit like its been wedged in intentionally).

People might say the soldier update might be next after it posting from his perspective. IIRC the soldier has posted once or maybe twice before. So that isn't necessarily the case...but there are better odds now 1/3

There's already reference to a King of the Hill gametype in tf.fgd, so it seems more than plausible to me.

I thought it was just a joke about control points (controlling something that seems kinda meaningless), but we may actually get a king of the hill map.

Rumors: One theory currently running through the game's Steam forums—a dark and dangerous place—is that the Soldier will be the next unit to receive a class revamp, meaning new weapons, new unlockable items and a week's worth of blog updates. Oh, and maybe even a new gameplay mode, "King of the Hill."
