Hey guys, first post, be easy on me :P.

Before I get on with the main part of my thread, I would like to know if anyone else finds it incredibly curious that a lot of people seem to know about the G-man except you. And he makes sure you complete your mission. He is seen talking to the man who gives you the rocket launcher etc. If anyone has some interesting info on this subject please feel free to post it.

Now...a lot of people are posting threads that have to do with the connection between the G-man and Gordon. Some people think that they are the same person, some think that the G-man is Gordon in the future. It doesn't matter if you believe in these or no, but either way these two photos are interesting:

Now onto my theory. You might get an idea of where I'm going with this once you read these definitions;

The biological half-life of a substance is the time required for half of that substance to be removed from an organism by either a physical or a chemical process.

The half-life of a quantity, subject to exponential decay, is the time required for the quantity to decay to half of its initial value.

It is possible that Gordon is... a part of the G-man or half of him. Also very interesting is that the other character that can kick as much ass as Gordon and is seen and sees the G-man, is Adrian Shepard, whos face we never see.

If Gordon is half of the G-man (or is capable of doing half of what the G-man can), could Adrian be the G-man's other half?

Just throwing it out there lol

umm, dude, 3 parts, cannot mean 'two halves', if so, what's the Gman's value? They'd all be thirds =P

SECOND, I don't mean to flame, but obviously OTHER scientists (and security guards for that matter) see the Gman, he's normally found asociating with scientist in the beginning of HL1, OP4.

THIRD, the Gman=Gordon (or any other SEPERATE character) theory, is pretty stupid. Both INDIVIDUALS were designed as SEPERATE characters. If you wanna get into this, then 'hey', guess what, Barney's Breen -_-.

W-well, both their names start with a B, and they're both pretty bad ass >.>.

Just. . . NO. . .

More of the "Gordon=Gman, but I modded it slightly, so it works out" -__-

No. Their faces look similar by coincidence, they're taken from different people that have nothing to do with each other.

Wow, they both have Green eyes, hey, they're both skinny too and have prominent cheek bones, they MUST be the same person!

It'd be amusing if Gman is Gordon's psychotic break to explain away the horrific pressures that teleportation energies put on him.

Too bad it's not true.

Gman definitely isn't Gordon, but that thing you said about Gordon being part of Gman or something.. that's interesting but unlikely.

I can't help but post this:

And seeing as Valve did not make the character of Adrian Shephard and thus did not consider him or his place in the world when naming the game. Hell, the g-man may not have been conceived yet when they named the game. According to Raising the Bar he wasn't added until fairly late in development.

Shepard is a masked hgrunt, and he better remain that way.

If he does come back... :O

Am I the only one who lol'ed hard at Goatee-Man?

Poor ol' Mike9108. Welcome to the forums!

Come on guys, why has no-one said that yet? You're all rude and horrible people, thats why. And you smell.

At this point I wouldn't rule out anything. But very, very, very, unlikely.

The real question is, how would you guys feel if the typical GMan=Gordon theory ended up being true? Would you be pissed?

I guess it would just be how it fit in, maybe if he was Gordon from a different demension.... I still don't really like the idea of it.

Yeah, I would be pissed =|
I'd just (HONESTLY) curl up into a ball, stop playing ANYTHING beyond Half-Life 2, nd stick to my Star Craft, where, atleast, ALL the characters are DIFFERENT PEOPLE D=.

I can't help but post this:

In that case one =P

Might I remind you that;

1) I am merely throwing out a theory that my friend and I thought was slightly interesting, and at no point did I mean to point out that this theory was right in the first place.

2) I already said that i was just throwing it out there. I just found it odd that the G-man was so determined for Adrian to succeed that it was unlikely that they would just drop it there.

and 3) Didn't mean to say Adrian+Gordon=G-man, merely stating that it I think there is a future link between Adrian and Gordon. They both have potential in the eyes of the G-man/his employers and that we never see their faces, (with the exception of Gordon in box art).

I'm sorry if I said something to offend anyones opinion/perception of the game and its characters.

I loled at the Bearded gman too!

Im not going to flame you, but even so, gman is just a mecenary administartor who owns both you and adrian. Why would future gordon hire gordon to do work.

And gman cant travel/control time my friend, he can only manipulate it.

The real question is, how would you guys feel if the typical GMan=Gordon theory ended up being true? Would you be pissed?

Basically, my opinion of Valve would experience a marked downturn. So far, one of the reasons I've kept playing the HL series is that the people designing it have always seemed to be a bit smarter/ more creative than your average gamer. If they really built something as retarded as the "Gordon from the future" theory into the games as a big climactic secret and the fan community has already figured it out, it would mean I got caught up in their mystique and overestimated their collective corporate intellect.

I mean, I guess it could be true, but it's just so... stupid.

Now that you mention it, Gordon and the G-Man as rough analogues in different universes would have a little more potential to be an interesting plot device (like the G-Man getting recruited by his 'employers' under similar circumstances in a parallel reality), but even so, "they're the same person, dude" is really trite and predictable and illogical and just not particularly interesting. End of Terminator-ish in a "clever, but not really that clever" sort of way. Not to mention, y'know...

Stupid.

Thanks ^^

See Tyrone Slothrop? This is how people are here, we call it 'nice'.

I swear, he's gonna end up like Shasta -_-

Gordon and Adrian fuse to become the G-man. True story.

intresting theory, but i'd rather think G-man is just Gordon's Imagination...

It would actually be pretty cool if Gordon dropped onto the Combine home world in the TARDIS.

That'd be great. The advisors are just going "WTF? Why is there a random blue box in the middle of the gunship factory?" when Gordon jumps out, armed to the teeth and blows the crap out of everything.

Just like always. . .

Gooood times, I miss that tactical Air Strike table ^^.
