To complement Michael Abrash's Ramblings in Valve Time, Valve's resident economist Yanis Varoufakis has launched his own blog where he will provide "weekly reports on our projects, experiences and ideas regarding Valve’s various social ‘economies’."
Yanis' first blog post details some of his frustrations at the limitations of economics and how he came to work at Valve. It's an interesting read and hopefully as the weeks progress it will get more and more interesting. Full blog here.

Holy shit, listening to that man speak is impressive. I hope he can kick some ass over there.

'Ello folks,

I have been skulking around for quite some time, though never really posted anything. Anyway, about a year-or-so ago I stumbled on an interview with Yanis Varoufakis on Econ Talk (I don't even know how I ended up there) "about the unusual structure of the workplace at Valve". It is mostly old stuff, though someone might still find it interesting. It is a bit over an hour long, however. Link
