My Radeon 9600 Pro 128meg died recently, leaving me incapable of playing HL2 when it comes out. I plan on getting a new card by then, but I'm not sure which one I should go for... First off, does anyone know if I can get my money back from ATI for my old card?

Now, there're a few things to take into consideration:
I'm not that much of a techie, so I want one that is low maintenance.
It can't cost too much.
Must be able to run the highest of the high end games, on decent settings.

Feel free to attack other peoples suggestions, if you have a good reason (For example, if someone suggests the CompanyX RadForce XI5300, but you know that that card crashes when you do this or that).

:naughty: I would go for a 9800 Pro, if not then go Non- Pro. Pro's go for about $240. If your Radeon just died without you doing any modifications I.E. overclocking then send it to ATi they will fix it for you.

9800 pros are a lot less than $240. You can get them for $195 at the cheapest. Newegg.com is the best place to go, they have them for $200 and they're the best bang for the buck card there is now.

Great. I'll look into it sometime soon. Do you know if they would take it back, and then let me pay the differance on a better card?

If it's anything like a harddrive warranty they will send you a new 9600 and then you mail yours to them within a certain amount of time after you get theirs.
donno, email them.
