suggestions?

I get the same thing. I'm just leaving it and hoping I've got the patch.

Right, this things died down now so time to unsticky.

man my comp is sick with something I think, some programs behave weirdly, Nortons didnt work so I tried reinstalling but the load keeps failing, and most annoyingly, I lost my "windows menu" (the thing with File, Edit, etc) on top of all my windows.....

heres the full skinny, maybe some one else got this shiznet:

Hey, one of my HD's IDE pins was pushed in and caused it to fail, I have reason to believe that within the few hours that I was using only the single other HD that had no antivirus software, I caught something.

My HD problems seem to be fixed now, but my virus problem has not. What it does/did is somehow it hides the Windows Menu bar wich is at the top of just bout every window (the bar with File Edit Help , etc on it). It also caused my Nortons to become corrupted, and now I cant reinstall it. Only bout 2 of all my programs seem to have been corrupted, when I double click thier icons on my desktop a DOS window would appear and disappear real fast and nothing would run, but I made new links to them and its fine now. So the programs were not really corrupted, just the links/icons I guess.

Also, when I tried to run Win XP built in firewall, the menu where I would select to run it does not show because Windows says some important software was corrupted and I should do a Windows Restore (but screw that since a lot of crap gets messed up when you do that, and it wouldnt solve my virus problem).

And I used the Homecall free online virus scan, and it found nothing. Blaster remover from Symantec found no trace of Blaster too.

I really have no idea what to do now, and I will probably send this email to Symantec since I use thier product and I tink they like to know if something hits you that thier software didnt detect.....

Thanks for any info anyone can provide
