New Windows Vista build released at PDC

I'm glad to see we still get good old MS Paint..

MS Paint is the best image software ever!
I mean I've made images that look life like before!
Makes Adobe Photoshop look like a piece of shit...

:)

Vista looks pretty lame..., they really need to do something if they want it to go over good.

Well the harder it is for Vista to become standard, the longer it will take to get a 64bit computing standard.

We can't stay at a 32bit age forever, Vista offers alot of new high end features for developers, for gaming, and for everyone else.
It isn't just a damn interface change, or a slightly improved something, it's one massive change that will be required.

Isn't Beta 2 supposed to have AERO Glass (3D Desktop) enabled?

and you'll need an unreal PC to even run the finished version of Vista, it's stupid imo.

stupid mainly because it will be a very demanding OS and people don't want to spend monster cash on new computers.

anyway as said already, its a neccessary change at some point to move onto 64bit.
obviously this change isn't gonna happen as fast as some would want it to.

yea im would wait 6months- 1year after released before i buy it because theres just no point right away

No. That would be your lack of understanding in PS that makes it look like shit. PS can do anything MS Paint can do if you know how it works.

It's funny how speciallty design software get's into the hands of everyday people...

nothin against 64 bit but doesn't vista require like 3 gigs of DDR3? the common user isn't gunna wanna roll out a crazy amount of dough. i sell computers and most ppl are stingy when it comes to even a $500 unit :\

yeah...i understand that which is why i said this change over to 64bit is gonna take longer than some people would like it.
someone compared the release of Vista to the days when everyone was using Windows 3.11 and then Win 95 was released... that was a huge jump and not everyone upgraded hardware and software wise right away to Win 95..anyway it seems the jump between XP and Vista is pretty big and stuff like that takes time to reach the common user financially speaking.

Ever considered the possibility that the person was being sarcastic?

you guys might want to download Paint.NET it's supposedly the basis for the next-gen ms paint

Wow you thought I was serious? LOL.
*ROFL*
*has a heart attack*

Windows Vista - Yet again stealing all your resources.

I don't want an uber flashy GUI. I don't want 10 gigs of help documents designed for an 8 year old. I don't want My Music, My Games, My Documents. I don't want 10 different ways to change my start sound. I don't want Useless crap installed by default.

I want something that works.

Well now thats where you wrong about it being slower.
Vista will be faster. Why? It's graphic card accelerated. Will that hurt games? No, because then theres nothing be drawn.

Overall this takes heaps off the processor itself, and gives one massive boost in speed. This will allow transparency for things also be super easy to be rendered. Overall it will be faster because of the graphic acceleration than Xp.

if u had intigrated gfx but couldnt afford a gfx card then how would u afford the os lol
also the like he said the gfx card only accelerates gaming

buying one has nothing to do with the other...so um..i don't understand what ur trying to say here.
one could buy a new OS without having to buy a new video card...unless theres something thats changed between last night and right now :O

So what if you have intergrated graphics? You can still go back to "Classic" style things. It will still use the graphic card to help render that. That is much easier to render for the graphics card.

In the end, if you meet the recommended specs, if it's intergrated or not if your intergrated card can meet those specs you will be able to run Vista in how it's suppose to look.

Does anyone know how to enable the 3D Desktop/UI?, or whatever its called, i think flip 3D.

That starts with Beta 2.

Agent...hes replying to me and im replying about a 3D Desktop
AERO Glass is Windows Hardware Accerlated 3D Desktop\interface.
Ill get what it exactly is hold on.

It can also do things like this:
Take all the folders and programs you have open and show a side view of all of them at once.(Ill get a pic later).
Movies will still play, graphics will still move(if they are moving graphics) in this view.
