All 29 miners trapped underground following an explosion last week in a New Zealand mine are dead.

"There was another massive explosion underground, and based on that explosion, no one survived. We're now going to recovery mode."

Apparently the temprature reached up to 1,200C during the explosion according to a mining expert. Hope they all went fast.

I'm sort of getting this vibe that an explosion in a cave would be like the inside of a cannon.

This has been like the 10th mining accident in the past 2 years that made international news, so I think we may get some big advances in mining safety. Maybe we'll have robots doing this shit soon.
