News of Halo 4 accidentily leaked?

I think stemot you'll find many people on this forum are on the fence or against Halo. And most people in this thread most people are either cautiously optimistic about this game (assuming it changes direction, which the majority are petitioning for) or against it.

But I digress, CoD is a particularly bad kind of shit, and wholly deserves its comeuppances.

Jesus. Just when I thought Halo had died with the absence of Bungie they go and announce another trilogy of the crap. Seriously, for all the bitching people do about CoD recycling the same shit year after year nobody seems to care that the Halo games recycle the same shit every time.

The Halo series is far and away a juicier series than CoD. Given the choice, I'd sit down and play a Halo game any day over a CoD title.

I always felt that the Halo universe had a lot of potential, and that the games did not do that universe justice.

Apparently the multiplayer portion is Reach with CE maps. Which *might* be alright, as long as there's a game mode that lets you use the classic damage model and classic weapons. But it's likely there won't be

I really enjoyed Halo 1 and 2, and I guess at some point 3 seemed fun co-op, but it wasn't really special and ODST felt so disappointing. Everyone seems to love Reach but it looks the same. Honestly the ending of 3 had enough closure to not need a sequel. Unless it's going to be a prequel, which I thought was what Reach was.

Sometimes I wonder how old you are when you post things like this...

Having only really played the original Halo since it was released on the PC I can only speak for it when I say that Halo is a mediocre franchise.
The single player was...enjoyable, but nothing amazing and takes a downturn in the later part(similar to HL1 xen) when they introduced the flood. The story and universe setting were fairly interesting, enough so that talking about it makes me want to play through it again.

I feel that the Marathon series has a much cooler setting and science behind it and would make for a much better remake than Halo one more time.

Edit: Oh and here's one of my biggest beefs with the story line: Why would you create these 'Halo's to snuff out all life in the universe in order to starve the flood and then keep the flood on board?

I doubt this will happen. My quick research (I was curious to what other games came from Bungie) shows that Oni was before the Microsoft takeover and that most of the developers have left the company since then. Looks like Bungie is now only good for pumping out Halo releases. Seems to work well for Microsoft.
