Is there newsletter anywhere on the site ? I think that reciving news on mail would be cool.

I could either format a plain text and html version everyweek that gets massmailed out to the subscribers of it, or Starmonkey might be able to write something that does the same.

Newsletters are usually good ideas for huge sites that post many articles of news per day (Gamespy, IGN etc.) but for a smaller site like us, it kind of seems pointless. Occasionally we'll go without news for a week, or will have just one article, which would make these newsletters quite sparse. It's really much easier to visit the front page.

So maybe you could send all news once a week ... i.e. Sunday or Monday ... but maybe you're right ... i just thought that having news on my mil won't me miss them ... and i'll get fresh news instant (i recive mails 24/7

Oooh, I've just had a brain wave

One thing you could do is I believe you can subscribe to the news forum.

When a new thread is posted in there (i.e. a news post) it will send you an e-mail confirmation Could be something to consider in the mean time until we think about getting a newsletter.

maybe an option to have it turned on or off would solve the problem of it annoying pple who wouldn't want it.
anyway i was just going to suggest what Chris mentioned.. damn bugger always beats me to it

You could do something along the lines of the swedish PCGamers "MailGamer" thing they send out each week, where the freelance writer of the staff writes short news on games and magazine happenings in a very personal way.

You could do something similar with news related to Half-Life and Half-Life 2,
and write about certain events, future plans etc for the forums.
