So as the big 3 get ready to officially unveil their systems I was wondering if you guys are planning on buying any of them ..personally I havent decided (I have an xbox that I rarely play ...pc being my main gaming machine)

All 3 if I can. :) Which one I get first depends on the games coming out for them.

I think you'll find that Nintendo have changed to a new codename. 21. Although I'm not sure whether these rumours are completely justified.

EDIT: I voted the Revolution, it wont just be a new console with better graphics. Thank God. I think we have had enough of them.

if someone came up to me now and offered me either i'd go with the ps3 but too early to judge, probably the ps3 coz of mgs

Theres hardly going to be any difference in games the way its going, you will have just a handful of decent titles unique to that console.
Nintendo if you want cartoon stlye games.
Microsoft if you are a chav or simple. (sorry i dont like xbox)
Sony if you like proper games.

I'll probably get all 3 (but not all at release)

To miss out on any will almost certainly result in missing some classic games (Very few games are simply amazing - and each of them is worth 10 'good' titles. To play them all you need all the consoles)

Save your cash, buy second hand if needs be, and only play the very best games around :)

XD

And all this time i've been playing games that aren't 'proper'.

At the moment my priority is Xbox 2 > PS3 > Revolution, but depending on how the Xbox 2 and PS3 turn out, it may switch. I just can't see myself going for the 'innovation' that Nintendo's putting into the Revolution.

Xbox 2 if it has the same kind of action titles the current Xbox has

Revolution if it really is a big revolution in how we game

PS3 if Cell lives up to its hype

But I'll probably end up with just my pc.

I have been a supporter of Nintendo for a long time now. I still want to continue playing the usual types of games that Sony and Microsoft will release but thankfully I have my PC for those. Revolution will bring me something new that I probably won't be able to get on a PC, even if it doesn't the fact is many of the games that have been released in the past for Nintendo have been something that I could never get on a PC (Zelda is the best example), meanwhile the kind of games that are released for the Playstation or Xbox are really not much different from most PC games.

I also hate the attitude of a lot of Xbox and Playstation fans when it comes to Nintendo which makes want to support them. Then I also want to support the underdog which makes me want to buy Nintendo even more.

Just revolution for me thankyou.

I've not owned a console since I sold my Master System and Game Boy (original). If I do buy one in the near future, it's gonna be a PSP, and only then if the rumours about Sony developing one with a harddrive.

PCs decimate all competition... if you have cash to upgrade every year or two. :O

Me too.

Consoles don't do anything for me anymore. Time playing a console is time that I could be spending doing something better on the PC. I remember going round 3 shops on the first day the PS2 came out when they were in short supply, and being really excited. But now I feel nothing.

Maybe it's to do with the PC and consoles being in different rooms. After decorating they'll be in the same rooms though, meaning Zelda + PC at the same time, woot.

I'll be getting my Revolution on the first god damn day, thank you very much. I'll keep an eye on XBox 2 and have zero interest in the PS3 considering my PS2 is a fancy paper-weight.

PS3 is probably the only console I’m getting this time.

If I however would get another one (I highly doubt it though), it would be GameCube Revolution.

I like how Micro$oft is failing dismally. In this poll anyway. I know that when it comes down to it, all the ignorant gamers will buy PS3, the true gamers will buy the Revolution and people who need a new Blast Door on their house will buy an XBox 2.

Xbox Next.

I love the first Xbox, and the followup will be even better in so many ways.

Consoles are getting out of hand in my opinion. There are only like 4 or 5 titles I'd be interested in playing during the course of each console's run. I like mods, custom maps, and open-source projects, and I don't see all of those things manifesting themselves this round. Or ever, in the case of open-source projects. Five years and it'll all be on emulator anyway.

i am not much a console gamer but i suppose i will eventually get one of the new consoles.. maybe the Nintendo one since i used to be a huge fan of pretty much whatever Nintendo made back in the day.

Nintendos new console, unless E3 shows us somthing wonderfull.

Nintendo are allways making good mutliplayer games, thats why I buy consoles, for multiplayer games, and one or two great single player ones (Like Fable). Playstation had alot of good games, but nothing that great. My xbox broke after 2 months of use.

All of them. Every console has something unique to offer. My purchases aren't restricted by some fanboy mentality. I go where the games are.

My purchases are restricted by how much money I have, need to pay for food and bills. Think before you speak ;)

My post wasn't directed at you. :| WTF!? Perhaps you should practice what you preach.

Ill probably go with whichever one allows hookup to a PC monitor. If none of them do, then I will wait untill a 3RD party makes one.

Otherwise I have to use a S-Video to VGA adapter which isn't as god.

I can't afford an HDTV at this time and its not quite as good as Im used to with the PC.

I can't stand playing consoles on blurry ass T.V.'s .

I don't care how good your T.v. is its still not as good as a PC monitor. Unless of course you like to sit far back, then you will want something larger.

I'm definately interested in what Nintendo has to offer... anything else is an afterthought.

I couldn't disagree more.

Console games look far worse on a monitor - simply because they're displayed at a lower res (low resolution on a monitor looks horrible. Low resolution on a tv looks fine) You also need a higher framerate to keep gameplay looking smooth (30 fps on a tv 'looks' more fluid than 50 fps on a monitor)

True.

I was playing GT4 on my monitor and it didn’t look any close to what it looks like on my TV (not as sharp like on the TV and the colours doesn’t look as good).

I wanna see how good this new Nintendo thing will be. If its nothing special I'll get XBOX2.

i don't have the money to buy it/anything..........

;(

I was defending everyone who is only getting one. You are calling everyone in the thread fanboys for only buying one. Think before you speak once again.

I think a TV is the way to go unless you can't sit far enough back from it.

When did I specifically say that everyone in this thread was a fanboy? You assumed that I was talking about people in this thread when, in fact, I wasn't. I hadn't read the entire thread before posting. I just posted my thoughts. However, I know that somewhere there's a fanboy who refuses to buy a different system. If i wanted to specifically call someone a fanboy, I would have.

Geez, you're just out to attack aren't you. :| I come here to just post my 2 cents and I get attacked for it. Go cool off and come back when you're ready to act like a decent human being.

alright you 2 stop polluting my thread with your bickering!!! oh and ritz have a cracker and chill out, he meant nothing by it :E

I was thinking of getting the new xbox but I have a feeling that the PS3 is gonna be a stronger system. Somebody made a post in another thread that kinda opened my eyes. "Xbox2 sounds like a money whore, it will be a fair price to get started but once you have it, it's gonna force you to buy all the little accesories (ie.) hard-drive, mem-cards, xbox live, etc."

Xbox2 will be out this fall, and PS3 will be out next fall. Correct me if I'm wrong. If this is the case then I'm prety sure that the PS3 will have more sheer horse-power then the xbox. I need more power!

I agree with just about every word you wrote.

Playstation 3. Simply because i think it has by far the best software and they don't invent controls the size of Mars.
