Next issue of PC Gamer Uk has got a Call of Duty 2 preview and something really big.

I dont see why it wouldent be Serious Sam 2.

Same here. The game kinda disappeared after last E3. Now would be great time for an update.

DNF sounds too unlikely. :p

So was Half-Life 2 expansion the big surprise PC Gamer were talking about?

Ha this is really funny. Back before Half-Life 2 came out, everyone would've assumed that it was something to do with Half-Life 2. They then would've been pissed off when it wasn't.

And now it's actually to do with Half-Life 2, everyone assumed that it would be everything but Half-Life 2.

On here maybe not. Go on a FarCry fan forum and ask if they all think HL3 would deserve a big "OMG!!! EXCLUSIVE!!!" article.

I found FarCry alot more enjoyable than HL2, speaking in SP here i found HL2 to be pretty boring and the same old same old. At least FarCry tried to be different and go a bit non-linear. Anyway, my point is, to me FarCry2 would be an "OMG!!! EXCLUSIVE!!!" ;)

I agree with you completely.

There's nothing non-linear about Far Cry.

Analogy time. Your game is a road. You are at point A - the start of the road. Your mission objective is at point B - the end of the road. Your path from A to B is, on average, a straight line.

The difference between HL2 and Far Cry is that Far Cry's "road" is wider, allowing you to swerve around a bit more on your averaged straight line from A to B.

I didn't say it was non-linear. Every SP FPS is going to be linear to a degree. Far Cry just happens to be a hell of a lot less linear than HL2. Not to mention harder, longer and more enjoyable to play in my opinion.

There was obviously a beginning point and an ending point to every Far Cry level. More often than not though there were multiple paths that coud be taken to get from A to B. More than the "wider road" you give FarCry credit for.

I'm not saying FarCry is the nexus of gaming. I'm not saying it was pulled off flawlessly. I'm just saying it was infinitely more enjoyable than HL2.

i believe in the future, no games will be linear..

Have you even read anything about Call of Duty 2?

lol, I couldn't even finish Farcry. It just became soo boring! I mean hell I got bored of it after an hour and only played it when I was extremely bored. Couldn't finish it I just decided to play Hitman 2 over and over again(Which didn't get boring even doing the first level a 100 times).
Farcry simply became boring and I uinstalled it cuz it was a waste of space.

So as Pi Mu Rho said, IYO.

Its DNF or... I can't believe that i'm saying this...prey. Check 3drealms main page and you will see at the bottom of their newest news post

"P.S. Keep your eyes open for the unveiling of our next game very soon. ;)"

CNN and many other places have reported prey may be shown at e3, and there is alot of non-insider info that supports this.

George Broussard said they would start hype up for DNF around 6 months from release. And a bit more than 6 months from e3, its 2006, and the 10th anniversary of duke3d

WHAT ABOUT TEAM FORTRESS 2 PEOPLE!?!?!

Did you crazy people forget that this could be the big news too?! Valve said they would mention more after HL2 was released. Why not right before e3 2005? Just like they did with HL2 before e3 2003. MADE MY POINT.

That's a very nice suggestion but people have got the magazine already. It was the Half-Life 2 Expansion.

Half-Life 2 expansion the story of the year? They really made it sound bigger than what the actual news was

How else could they sell magazines?

In your opinion.

So you mean to tell me that all this time I've only been speaking for myself? I thought I was speaking for the whole of humanity all this time. Even though I already wrote "in my opinion" once in that incredibly short post, I'm glad that someone could redundantly quantify my statement for people like Mineral to understand.

You should stick to easy games like HL2 then. As for bordom, I don't know how you can say one mediocre FPS is more boring or more fun than another mediocre FPS. Did you have a hard time finding guys to shoot? I guess if there were no bad guys it would be boring. Is shooting a guy more fun in one game than the other? Shooting guys in HL2 was awesome, but it was soo boring in FC. LOL.

Having said that, there is probably nothing in this world that matters less to me than your opinion of a video game. I couldn't care less what game you enjoyed and what game you didn't, or how long each game resided on your hard drive.

IN MY OPINION FacCry was infinitely more enjoyable than HL2.

That arguement works for all games, including Deus-Ex and games such as WoW because eventually you all end up at the same spot even if you've taken a different route to see a different ending/quest. FarCry on a whole is not even close to as linear as HL2 is, i can only think of one bit in HL2 where it has a small ammount of what FarCry has on every outdoor level and that's the part where you're on the beach with the Antlions.

I'm not saying HL2 is a bad game because it isn't but it does'nt add much to the table in terms of FPS (strictly SP here). Anyway my opinion is HL1 and FarCry make better SP games than HL2....HL1 for its shere good-ness that it is and FC for it's effort at changing the tune FPS games make along with pretty decent gameplay (stories mean jack to me, they suck in all FPS games including HL1 and 2).

Don't know if people have checked yet but the 2 big stories are Stargate SG 1 the Alliance and Call of Duty 2

far cry was boring..Minerel didn't say it was too hard..just too boring...it was boring when my friend let me borrow it before doom3 was out and guess what? its still boring..just my opinion..

That's fabulous. And what a great opinion it is. Lucky for me, the degree to which you enjoy FarCry has absolutely no bearing in my life.

Why do you feel compelled to act like an ass? This is a forum and people share thoughts and their opinions, you think X > Y that's great, good for you, no need to be a troll.
