Miyamoto's concept Zelda image is finally here.

Interesting. Well at least its the same art style. I like your interpretation, I would say that we may definitley see the new "Navi" as a manifestation of the master sword.

Only difference i see is that the gem on her is blue with a gold outline instead of gold with a blue outline.

Glad to see it's not too cartoony. I loved OOT and Twilight Princess, but Wind Waker really bugged me.

Was just about to post this. Looks amazing. I now remember why I own a Wii.

I hope this one has an actual orchestra backing it. One of the things about Twilight Princess that annoyed me was that after playing Shadow of the Colossus, Zelda's synthetic score wasn't up to scratch.

Like someone at Kotaku pointed out, Link is supposed to be left handed D:

They switched to right-handed for Twilight Princess on the Wii because most people use the Wiimote in their right hand, so they wanted your arm movements to match up with the sword. Which was bullshit, because it didn't actually matter whether you swung to the left or right.

Looks like it's canon now.

I guess that's gravy, not like it's safe to assume that every Link is the same in each Zelda title.

Ahh that's true. But the Gamecube version was left-handed. They actually made the switch by mirroring the entire game for the Wii. The plot thickens...

Or gain another shield and sword and wield a shield on each arm and a sword in each hand :3

Mirror world.

Lol if there's such thing in the game or something which ties in...

Looks nice, hopefully they'll keep the same ingame art style as TP and improve the technical part a bit.

I just hope they have no more wolf parts. That was the only annoying thing for me in TP. Too bad it was a HUGE part of the game! Otherwise loved it, but I already had fallen in love with Okami and was not crazy about more of that when I could be running around as the brilliant next-gen Link I had been waiting years for! I am very hopeful for this one...even though we know dick about it.

****ing love it. Cannot wait for this.

Good work on item spotting, too. I never even thought to look for stuff like that. Very cool.

New Zelda game.... YAY!!!!

Genuinely already excited :D I hope the wait isn't going to be TOO long...

The Gamecube version's un-mirrored map actually matched up very well to the Ocarina of Time map of Hyrule with a couple of alterations that can be explained away by TP taking place over 100 years after OoT.

The Wii version's version had Death Mountain etc. on the wrong side of Hyrule in relation to the forest and Gerudo Desert.

Hence, the Gamecube version is canon. From a real Zelda geek point of view, this should, by rights, be a different descendent of Link as he appears to be right handed in concept art. But I reckon it's the same one.

Yep and I played it on Cube, the gestures seemed so lame and tacked on when I saw my friend play on his Wii.

So we can problably assume that links sword during the game turns into the thing....

You know a series is colossal when one piece of concept art featuring hardly anything at all causes this much excitement. I'm pleased to know it's being worked on, despite that being no surprise whatsoever, but this picture does not interest me one bit.

Give your fanbase no word whatsoever then throw them a bone out the blue to show that shit is getting done is something to get excited about if you ask me. I felt the same way about the Episode 3 concept art pieces. People who like Zelda are going to like Zelda related content... I see no harm by it, but then I actually really like the art itself more than anything at the moment. It's a fantastic drawing. :D

Besides, as the comparitive image suggests, there is more to this image than just a quick atmospheric/mood sketch to show development.

I dont see any similarity between the sword and the fairy or whatever, besides the fact that they both have a diamond, which isnt even the same.

Its like looking for jesus in marmalade.

Sorry Krynn but I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I'd bet 1000 dollars they're related.

And I know this post sounds like I'm joking but I'm serious.

I seriously have to agree with Veggie on this one, they're probably related in some way.
Look at the facts, and the pics. Facts - Link is missing his sword, there's a sword-like fairy behind him. She looks somewhat like the Master Sword by her design and various elements about her. It adds up.

The point of her hat, diamond and leggings are all of the same as the sword, regardless of a change of colour... which is a little odd, I'll admit, and in the end you could be completly right - there may be no similarity at all, however blatently there is already. Early concept work subject to change and all. That said, it's not a coincidence at all considering Link isn't holding said sword in a physical form to begin with, but regardless of nitty details like that the picture speaks all sorts of volumes that represent Zelda; Link standing tall as the warrior figure in defense of the more forward thinking element of the games, Navi. It might not even be Navi, but whatever. That's interesting enough for me but fair enough to others if it's not a big deal to them.

Not quite sure why people are getting to uppity about a few people getting reasonably excited over a new Zelda title but hey ho...

Jesus was found in marmite, too. ;)

Show me one sword that looks like her legs, and that has a handle guard angling down towards the hands. Its a little far fetched. And my point about the jesus marmite was that people see things that they want to see.

But then, zelda games always have wierd and unique ideas, so I wouldnt really be surprised. Could turn out pretty cool.

It's not meant to be taken that literal. :p Her leggings are of the same pattern, a diamond is placed roughly in position to where the diamond is upon the sword and at the highest point of her figure is... well, a point. It's just small, simple and subtle elements that match certain characteristics of the Master Sword, is all.

Of course, it's not gonna come out for another 4-5 years, in which it will then win every video game award plus an Oscar.

Man, my monitor sucks. I didnt even see the pattern on the master sword's handle. I thought the comparison was the shape of the handle and the shape of her legs which wasnt even close.

But alright, im pretty convinced that you guys are right now. Looking forward to seeing how it plays into the game.

Man, I can't wait for this! I hope they use soft lighting like in TP. I really liked that art style.

Was that little blue fairy in TP? I never finished it, but i remember seeing her in the top of the screen sometimes.

Nah, this looks like it'll be the Spirit of the Master Sword or something.

Perhaps this time around there will be more plot connections between the Zelda games as this Spirit of the Master Sword-type character might reference the older games.

That's the thing you point with using the Wiimote when not using your bow/boomerang/other ranged weapon.
Well, you never need to point at anything except when using a ranged weapon.

Oh right. You had that shadow thing that rode you like a bitch.
