I've got a problem where when I put my map at night, and place some lights, all the glass windows and most of the floors in my map will be glowing purple. How do I fix the problem?

Anywhere I think. You can always copy the one from the example water map if you like.

But I've already got one for my water. Do I put more than 1? This only happens when it's a nightmap. In day situations, everything is fine.

I actually have the same problem but it's only with my 3d skybox textures. I've had a cubemap in the map for a while so unfortunately that won't resolve anything.

Try increasing the lighting. It can still be dark just not as dark. When I turned the lighting up on mine, the problem when away. Might be a bug in Source...

Rather than spamming the threads page I thought I'd add on another problem I've been having here. If I get too far away from my light source, it shuts off by itself. If you look at the light and dark pictures attached, my character is only a few feet apart between pictures but the light is completely gone on the ceiling. What's up with that?

I really should learn to make just one large update rather than all these little ones. Anyway.

I found out that the problem is that any time the light is outside my line of vision, it turns off. It doesn't matter how far away I am, I have to have a straight line of sight for it to be on. Is there any way to disable this?

OK thats just wierd.

Try asking around at the Verc forums.

I think we should just wait for the night skyboxes that will hopefully be released with the full version of the SDK.

I believe cubemap problems should be fixed with the full SDK release next week.

maybe its just simply a video card problem on your end? just guessing, i havent actually tried this myself

I think this is an issue with cubemaps. The full sdk has to be released for them to work properly so just sit tight.
