Nihilanth, Advisors and Stalkers, Oh My! (another theory)

For those of you saying, "well why didnt the Controlers make more Nihilanths?" I thinks its because if you create something that dosn't mean it always obay you. So it might have required alot of consetration for the Controlers to handle Nihilanth. Now imagine if you had 2 rebleuse Nihilanths that team up.

Yeah, what he said.

I still think the Advisor is wearing an oversized, super-stitched sock. With no eyes, they can't see how ugly it is, but it sure as hell must keep them nice an warm.

ROFL

I don't think the hole in the Stalkers throat would be for breathing. If you read Raising the Bar, it shows early versions of Stalkers with their mouths stitched closed so perhaps it was meant to be a breathing hole.

I think that they have removed the Stalkers voice box so it can't communicate, seeing as their mouths in the final version are not stitched closed.

This would make sense if you read the book and know that the Stalkers are similar to drones and lead a slave / subservient life in the combine citadel. This is also why the combine amputate the limbs.

Yeah, that's what most people theorise, but I just don't buy it - for the most notable reason, the lack of 'Combine Metal' on Xen. That, and the fact they use crap teleportation - if they'd found Xen, and made Nihilanth, they'd at least have the plans for making another one, and wouldn't need a human to conjure up some teleportation.

I'm thinking that the Combine are simply attracted to the amount of energy released in the portal storm, somehow, and then decided it's probably a good place to invade.

Humans are attracted to Symbolism and our entire Civilization is built using metal (nearly.) It would make sense for them to use it to enslave Earth. Vortigaunts might not use Symbolism in the same way as Humans do, also Xen is a much more organic world, Xen technology is organic in nature, combine use technology from the world they enslave, they use Xen's organic technology, they use Earths metal based technology.

But the metal they use was distinctly chosen by Valve to contrast our own, to make for a clear alien/human interation in the environment. Valve made the metal look as alien as possible. I think the metal is symbolic of Combine, and you don't see any metal in Xen, apart fron on Nihilanth's pod thing. And even then, it's just not the Combine's style.

The plugs in the Stalkers are for dialysis of their fluids. They don't eat, but need to be fed/cleaned out.

Nihilanth could have been created by the Contollers. but there might be a "king" or "president" Controller, who, like Breen, made a deal with the Combine to spare the Controllers if they work with them and build Nihilanth. If they Controllers are hive-minded they might be hurt if one of them dies, so it would be in the their best interest to simply ally with the Combine and build something to conroller the rest of the planet.
