I never even played the NES Icarus, and I still want the new one.

Same. I know nothing of Icarus :hmph:
^Same, I've heard a lot about it etc but it's just another of those NES games I'm not really interested in.
Most of my old-gaming these days is Amiga and DOS anyway.
The electric reaction to the Nintendo 3DS at this year's E3 is one of the reasons Nintendo opted for a 25,000 yen ($300) price point, president Satoru Iwata has told analysts.
... the Nintendo CEO explained during an analysts meeting yesterday that the excited reaction at E3 was one of "a number of factors" it considered when setting the higher than expected price.
[Michael Pachter] predicts that the 25,000 yen ($299) price point for the Japanese launch of the handheld will depreciate somewhat as it travels to Western markets, arriving in the U.S. for $250, Europe for €250 and the U.K. for £200. And although Nintendo of America CEO Reggie Fils-Aime stated the 3DS would "launch in all of our major markets by March 31, 2011," Pachter foresees an even later arrival in the West.
All that could change: Remember that most people thought Wii would be $200. But $300 carries a of a heavy psychological burden. Add in Nintendo’s history of lowering prices for the U.S. and $250 is more likely a ceiling than a floor.
In addition to its own software, the Nintendo 3DS will be backward compatible with Nintendo DS software, including DSi software.
^Did you go
