I'm really curious about that game, "Disaster", for the Wii. Looked all grown up, but I didn't get a sense of the gameplay or genre.

The feed I was watching was terrible in quality so I didn't really get a sense of the graphics that well. The art styles all looked top notch though. It's hard to tell much from the videos, I can't wait to hear from the people who get hands on time tomorrow. The movement of sound from the remote to the TV sounds like a great addition. Can't wait to get impressions on that as well.

The marketing strategy is definitely top notch. Between the opening video with the people and the gameplay and their play on the "iii's" in wii. The presentation looked professional while Sony's looked like one you'd expect from a high school dropout.

A few years ago I had counted Nintendo out, and didn't think I'd ever get one of their systems again, but this game system looks fun as balls.

I knew they were going to Steal the show, but wow. The graphics seemed just barely up to the job in Red Steel. I'm sold already, and I'm the biggest graphics whore ever. That's all I used to care about. Damn. Nintendo should just make controllers for all the systems.

Just think, another six months minimum to enhance the gameplay and graphics and this will be a better looking game then I originally thought. Obviously not PS3/360 graphics, but that's not why I want the Wii.

Some people in other forums are comparing a title over six months away to games already released (and delayed) for the 360 and saying the Wii is no more powerful than the gamecube. Lunatics I tell ya.

Not all of them were standing. The guy playing the FPS was sitting down on the couch, if I recall correctly.

The standing isn't mandatory; the videos show a guy playing red steel while sitting.

I'm guessing standing just makes a more dynamic presentation.

ya I can see where sword fighting would necessitate standing up (red steel is sword fighting right?) ..my post was mostly in jest but I can see how playing the wii for hours on end could be a bit of a workout

Overall, after watching the conference, I am seriously considering getting a Wii (and I HATE Nintendo), the games looked fun, original, and with Zelda and Red Steel you really can't lose, plus I like it that they FINALLY brought those little ADD games from the handheld to a console, I love playing those little 3 second games where you gotta like run to the finish and balance stuff
