Nintendo press conference was an epic fail

All they announced was Wii Sport Resort and Wii Music, and some mediocre DS titles such as Pokemon, oh and GTA for DS.

I guess Nintendo was saying "We are selling the hell out the Wii and DS so **** having BIG plans. We are going to do the exact same thing until sales start to slow down."

I was rather disappointed. Yay another Wii Sports game... Yay Shaun White Snowboarding... Honestly, they announced nothing at all. I mean I don't have a Wii, and this is justifying me not purchasing one.

You know what pisses me off more than anything, Wii Motionplus, how rediculous. So two years after the Wii launches they make an add on (that you have to purchase) that makes the Wii finally do what the pre launch promotional material said it would do. LAME

I am actually not disappointed. Wii Music looks awesome. How can you not watch that and think it kicks ass?

Nintendo has said in the past, however, that they will have more hardcore-oriented games at E3. I would not be surprised if they announced more stuff after the conference, like they did last year.

I hope that you are right.

They could at least showed some of the new Castlevania stuff, or the Kirby SS for DS. But instead I got to hear about the DS being my new cookbook.

Oh, come on, seriously. They showed Call of Duty, Star Wars, Wii Music, and mentioned Grand Theft Auto DS, a new Guitar Hero, Animal Crossing and also confirmed that the Zelda and Mario teams are both making new stuff. The focus was on the more casual games, but how can you ignore that other stuff there as well? Nintendo is going to have more than two or three games playable on the show floor. It wasn't the best conference ever, but frankly I still think don't think it was the embarassment Microsoft's was.

Either that or they've got some other event planned for later on. Maybe they just don't want to put all their cards down at E3.

In fact, whenever I want to play the Wii, I can just go to my friend's house and play all the good multiplayer games.

I played one in Best Buy, like, two weeks ago. I am sufficiently informed.

Seriously though, I've checked out Wii sections and the only game that stands out in recent memory as having a bit of violence was RE4. Maybe the shops are locking all the adult (sic) games behind the counter at the behest of Nintendo so as to avoid toddler corruption and the wailing stampede of clueless, angry moms. I'm just not seeing them.

Boom Blox looks fun though. That and maybe two other games.

Borrowed my friend's Wii for about a month. He never played it, and I can say that I was surprisingly the same after playing it for about 2.3 weeks.

Doing practically anything with a bunch of mates is better than 99% of games released ever. Seriously though I have more fun playing TF2 with mates than any of my Wii games. Although the latter is easier when alcohol is consumed however.

Alcohol + ? = awesome.

Not always. Most of the time I get together with mates we don't want to play games fullstop. When we do, it's only on the Wii. Social gaming > online.

I played Wii Sports with some friends for about twenty minutes before going over an hour into some Halo deathmatch.

Anything is made more fun with friends. The Wii does not have a monopoly on this just because it has glorified mini-games.
