No audio in avi. files

Very few of the .avi videos that I have can play up the audio. In WMP, Realplayer, DivX and Quicktime the audio is gone in most of the videos. Anyone got any idea what causes this and what I have to do to fix it?

Have you tried VLC Media Player. Always works for me

You need the right codec, or VLC Player.


Preferably the latter. Preferably an older version than is on their site.

Turned out I just had to download a codec.

Should've checked that before making the thread, sorry for wasting your time.

Yeah, first thing I do whenever someone in a video doesn't work is download the latest K-Lite Codec Pack. Usually fixes everything.
