No bullet holes in cs 1.6

This is not actually my problem but my friend's problem. When he shots he can see the sparks and the smoke etc, but it leaves no bullet holes/black marks on the wall. He has searched and tried several console commands but they wont show up.

Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Something to do with sprites. Tell him to check his options (advanced, I think) and make sure the "maximum sprites thingy" is higher than 1.

No, no, those are still rendered, but the amount of bullet holes can be limited somewhere in the options.

hm the max decal is set to 300, he has tryed all kinds of numbers but nothing works.

4096? It's most of the time default on that.

I had the problem. Write r_decals 128 in console.
