No dialogue audio in Ep2

I just completed HL2 Ep1 and the voice dialogue works fine but in Ep2 I can't hear any voices, I just see Alyx flapping her hands about (she doesn't even open her mouth, it stays closed but her body actions are normal), I've done lots of audio setting combos but none work.

Any ideas what's wrong?

ARGH, I've played to level 17 in Portal and just found out there is dialogue in this too?!? Is this true? :| Because I haven't heard any voices in it.

And yeah I had to redownload Ep2 as well. Still downloading, 4 hours to go, guess I won't be able to play until tomorrow and have to do same for Portal now as well.

apparently yeah there's dialogue in portal as well.

I had the same thing (download again too), but I works after that. I finished it a couple of minutes ago.

Sounds like it's something that validating the files might of fixed tbh, rather than re-download the whole game again.

DON`T REDOWNLOAD, simply change the language for each game in steam properties, apply, then change back, after a little decrypting, hey presto, voices!
