A good amount of mainstream rock has been heavily influenced by AiC and sound a fair amount like them.

It's their style though. I see no reason they should change. I have also never heard anything that sounds like "Head Creeps" or "Brush Away" or, for that matter, anything off their self-titled album. That is true Alice in Chains, like this is.

I see what you mean though. The sound of Facelift and Dirt has been raped by other bands.

I guess I shouldn't say that they should change their sound. But after hearing bands rape their sound, it just feels dated.
