Everywhere I look there's a topic about it. It's cluttering up the forum, and can be kept to only a few small topics. Use the ones that are provided already, feel free to ask questions in them, just don't make a new topic.

Sounds good, but please don't delete any of the current posts, there are good points in most of them. And I hate having some of my posts removed just because I put them in a smaller thread!

It's happened before...and it made me cry :(

I'm only going to remove topics that are made after this warning, so your posts are safe and sound :p

Sorry about that. I didn't know :)
Here's my original, Just for consistency:

I placed my pre-order on July 8th for HL2. So which of the THREE versions did I order!?

I think this is one of the worst marketing ideas I have ever heard of, a true “nickel and dime them to death” plan from a company/product that I was so looking forward to.

For crying out loud, who doesn’t want the “super-duper special addition” version?! Isn’t that the whole point!!!!!!? This was going to be a defining moment in game history (and may be for reasons unrelated to game play!), instead, it’s left me with a bitter taste in my mouth before the game has even shipped!

At a time when UT2004 is offering to include the entire UT2003+ all of the bonus expansion packs AND 30+ new maps, vehicles and new game play AND offer a rebate for people who already have UT2003!!!! Who loves you more?

Thanks Valve, for mucking up the whole thing. Now I just feel like I’m going to get ripped off.

Now off to pre-order “Call of Duty”.

You pre-ordered the traditional SP/MP package. You simply take it home, install it and play whatever you wish, be it netplay or singleplay. No worries.

How about no more stickys about no more repeated posts and just delete the posts anyways, would probably cut this forum in half :)

Because the authors would make another topic asking why their topic was deleted.

Just how many versions of Halflife2 are there, I heard about this before but I never gave it any thought.

There are 4 versions..

The one you paid for.
The one you should have paid for.
The one you can't afford.
and The one you never knew about.

:D

u know that e-mail is a lie, right? A: why would gabe write in blue and in 2 different fonts? B: the grammer and spelling suck donkey balls C: sierra doesnt publish the game vivendi does (and b4 u say vivendi owns sierra, vivendi is publishing it direct, and not thru the sierra branch) D: no matter how long gabe's e-mails are, he never signs them. and why, when he asked a question about pay to play, would he talk about 3 different versions of HL2 and how they are selling the game?
I rest, my case! :p

Good points. It's a shame he's posted on the board and confirmed that he sent the mail.

Pay attention, please.

Gabe always responds to my e-mails with blue text (and often different fonts).

Thanks, after 30 or so threads, even I was getting tired of them...
